Just wanted to say Thank you

Hi! I'm Mortalitasi65 and I've been playing ESO for 3 years now. I recently realized that I have spent a lot of time, mostly with guildmates, moaning about changes to one thing or another, but I really haven't taken the time to say "Thank you". I recently became estranged from my entire family. I lost my husband, my home and quite possible a bit of my sanity. But ESO has always been here for me. I've fought every type of creature, climbed many a mountain, dove into swamps to find hidden lore and was able to forget my problems for a while. I even found a "Happy Spot"... Granted, it's in the Vaults of Madness, but then I never claimed to be completely sane!

And now you've given me a beautiful new world to explore in Elswyer.

It is truly beautiful. I've spent hours climbing over rocks and hills, crawling through forests and jungles, finding the most beautiful waterfalls and plant life, not question or delving, but just exploring the wonder of this new and awesome zone. I thought that Orsinium was the height of beauty with it's snow-covered mountains and icy rivers, but Elswyer makes my heart happy. And I've found many old friends here. From M'Aiq the Liar to Razum-dar, Cadwell and Abnur Tharn. And I look forward the seeing more old friends with the coming chapters.

So once again I say "Thank you!" a thousand times and from the bottom of my heart THANK YOU! You've made my life a little bit better just knowing that there is a place I can go where I'm only judged by the power of my spells and the might of my sword!

Sincerely,
Mortalitasi65

Thanks for posting this. I have very similar sentiments. I have so much fun with this game and it has made my life more enjoyable despite some shortcomings which seems to me they have been steadily improving.

So you lost everything because of a game and want to say thank you ? Maybe less time with ESO and Guildmates and more time with your family. Wtf is wrong with people

As ever, the basic reading comprehension on a game forum is... well, feces.

Someone who has a lot of issues happening IRL finds solace in a game, and people tell them to drop the last thing that keeps them halfways sane and go back to the pain they try to escape?
    WTF is wrong with people???
Does the phrase "Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness" ring a bell?
So what if some are in such a difficult life situation that they can find a bit of happyness only in a game?
Why can't you just let them, and wish them their RL might improve that they might perhaps find some happyness to pursue there as well in due time?

    As for you, @Mortalitasi65 ...
...go on. Enjoy ESO as much as you want to.
As for your Life... remember what Winston Churchill once said:

    So.
    Keep going.
The bad times will end, someday.
No matter how bad, you can get through it.
If ESO helps, then by all means, play as much as you need and ignore the naysayers!

If ever you are in EU PC Tamriel feel free to visit Sugar Island.

We specialise in happy corners even though technically the island is more of a circle shape yes.

When the game of Outside World becomes too wearing we all need a happy corner or three or four to recover ourselves in.

Professional, clinical support is probably preferable. Don't neglect it as an option.
