Awesome game, having a great time playing through the PVE so far. One issue I noticed while watching my brother play on his character was that he reached a boss (gutripper) that he was having some trouble with, and got even more fed up as he died over and over without the option of leaving the dungeon to try again a t a higher level. Has anyone encountered any other issues similar to this in ESO where if you reach content that you aren't matched for yet, you basically have to abandon your character and start over? I'm level 20 and haven't seen anything else like this yet, but I'd hate to see anyone give up because they can't take the games advice and "flee and return later"....

You always have the option to use Fast Travel. You need to open your map and zoom out until you see a wayshrine you can travel to.

(I'm surprised he's having trouble with Gutripper as they made him a lot weaker than he was in the Beta. Make sure he dodges and stays on the move by strafing, etc.)

Thanks! I guess I never even considered that because of the way other TES games have handled fast travel. U can pay to port from inside dungeons, oblivion realms, outside as a vampire ;) ?

I played beta and have two chars I do now. I have not encounterd this. I do know sometimes things can get buggy reloading ui or logging out and back in can fix a lot. So far I always have been able to leave a place, especialy dungeons. Let's hope it was a fluke

For some reason when you go to Cheesemongers Hollow you are effectively 'locked inside' and of course when you're new you never remember about Fast Travel. It got me in the Beta but I finally remembered about FT after dying umpteen times. :D

He finally beat him after switching to a destro staff and aedric spear combo. We were both just like wtf can't I leave and level up and come back?? Very happy to hear about a fast travel workaround in instances like this though! Were both longtime Elder Scrolls fans trying to find our way in this massively online world. Also while were at it, big up to all my fellow adventurers who constantly come to my aid with a healing spell or a well timed jab in a bad guys belly!

I thought about Fast Travel from Cheesmongers Hollow, but couldn't do it. Displaying the map shows the Dungeon interior style map and no wayshrines. I couldn't zoom-out further than Cheesemongers

You zoom out one step at a time by right-clicking the map, doing so multiple times if need be. This is how the map works throughout the entire game.

I think you can go out the gate you entered and then out the portal, I had to go out the portal and then in again later as the summoned daedra before the gate was opened was bugged. If not its a bug.

Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

Zaria is right, you have to backtrack all the way to the portal through which you entered Cheesemonger's Hollow, I did that during the beta when a character just couldn't beat him so I decided to level a bit more first.

They must have changed Cheesemonger's Hollow if you can go back into the building you entered via the portal. Sheograth's servant always locked me in when he closed the door behind me.

Mind you, as I said earlier, Gutripper is a push-over now, and goes down in two or three hits. I was shocked at how easy the fight is now.

I had problems beating him with 8 level Templar :( Took me a dozen tries to be able to beat him... Probably, the massive lag was doing things more difficult than it should.

I was on the verge of abandoning the character there, since there is no way back. The entry door shuts down and there's no exit from there.
Luckily, just tried different things until I beat him...

Did you just use the +/- buttons? There should be a list of regions along the right-hand side (Glenumbra, Auridon, Stonefalls, etc., etc.). If you click on the name of a region, it should show the map of that region regardless of your current location. Then you can click on a Wayshrine you have already discovered. I have not tried that myself so it might be disabled in certain dungeons...

Yeah, I ran into that problem with the Gutsripper quest in the beta and it was aggravating. I'd hoped they had fixed it.

You can get out of there by abandoning the quest, but then you have to start again way back at the stage where you pick up the books from the ruin.

The trick to that is the list of names along the right side of the map. Look for the zone you have been adventuring in and select that and the map will change the map for that zone. At that point you can wayshrine out.
