do you think we need other means of aquiring Transmutation Crystals other then PvP?

I pvp so I don't have a problem with crystals personally. however I do feel that something as basic as the acquisition of transmutation crystals to change traits on your armor being limited to the niche that is PvP activities is indeed pretty silly, especially given how basic the functionality of just changing an armor trait is.

and if so how many and where do you get them?
for instance 30 day completion rewards a static 50 for rank 1 rewards, with a daily-ish 4 per character from rewards of the worthy (it claims to be 4 or more, but its ALWAYS 4)

so perhaps activities could include:
-daily group dungeon (4+)
-various world dailies (1-4)
-world bosses (1)
-treasure maps reward table (1-4)
-writ turn ins reward table (1-4, 4+)

etc. please comment below with your thoughts and opinions.

Personally I just get most of my characters to tier 3 in a campaign by zerg surfing then I save the ROTW and only open one a day so I'm guaranteed 4+ crystals a day. It builds up quickly this way. For the next 2 campaigns after that I'll just get to tier 1 rewards to get the 50 crystals at the end of the campaign.

crystals are an inducement for players to try pvp. zos created such kind of rewards to lure players to different game modes. why would pvper try pve if not gear as a reward? why would pveer go to pvp? but we all need sets and crystalls so we all ought to do both pve and pvp

I think if they were actively trying to lure people into PvP they would actually put more effort into pvp in the first place.

seeing as they don't really care about it anymore (its not their selling point) I doubt their trying to get people into it, despite the fact that with a little effort it could be something special.

I get enough just from doing daily Undaunted Pledges, and I've never had such a burning need that I'd want to go to Cyrodiil for them. Of course, if there were more PvE activities to get crystals from other than the 1-4 per pledge you do, I wouldn't complain.
Daily writs could be a good way to get Transmute crystals, and (since I don't do that much crafting) would actually get me to do my daily writs, if only to cap out my crystals.

How many transmutes can a pure pveer earn in 30 days?

    Per character:

    30 * 3 vet pledges ~180
    4 * weekly trial ~20
    30 * daily vma ~150
    30 * daily vdsa ~150
    4 * weekly rewards ~40
    30 * daily random (vet) ~ 60

    180+20+150+150+40+60=600

    600/4 = 150

You need 100 per week? Done.

Also, any dlc vet dungeon end boss will drop a purple geode; grind however many extra you need.

So what's all this about being disadvantaged? No need to abuse pvp rewards for pve benefit.

    Edit

I didn't even add a daily brp run.

Honestly, the math here doesn't account even for all sources. Especially weekly rewards which will be much higher if you do all weekly events.

    No.
First, ZOS doesn't want them to be the primary way of changing trait on gear. No, jewelry traits don't count, as they A) serve as an effective sink for extra crystals for the people mostly likely to obtain lots and use the new traits (PVPers and trial runners), and B.) aren't necessary for completing group content or PVP.

Second, if you aren't doing the type of content that gives transmute crystals, you don't need to transmute your gear. No, swift jewelry for PVE farming doesn't count - players farmed and completed overland content with the regular 3 traits for years.

Third, you get crystals from PVE Group Content, PVP, or Festival rewards. All three of those are content that ZOS wants to attract players to doing so they can fill the groupfinder queues, the PVP campaigns, and make festivals a success. There is no reason for ZOS to devalue that inducement by making crystals available for overland PVE content.

    I don't transmute anything.

    EDIT.
There really is no need, unless you're playing PVP... in which case you have access to them already.
Non-elite players can survive with a mix of traits, essential or otherwise.

What about daily dungeons and pledges? dont we already have pve sources? Anyway if you want to farm more you can just repair keeps, that'll net you a good deal of ap for the rewards; dont need to even battle other players.

I got 10 the other day, so seems it does not always only be 4.

If Cryodiil ran without the crushing lag most of the time, I'd say no we don't need other sources of transmute crystals. But because of the usually poor performance in Cryodiil, I have to say yes.

How does this have anything to do with what is asked? There are more pve sources for transmutes than pvp options. Performance in Cyro has no bearing on that.

    Ooops, I'm too late!

Guys, you have NO IDEA what it's like to really need to transmute a bunch of gear in a hurry, otherwise you wouldn't be posting this nonsense, LOL.

And YES, transmuting jewelry definitely DOES count. Why wouldn't it count??? Especially now that Protective just got nerfed! I could spend 24 hours a day farming transmute crystals until Update 23 goes live, and I *still* wouldn't have enough to transmute all the Triune pieces I'm gonna need.

In a hurry? Wait 30 days per char for 50 each, or 4-10 daily from BG.

Or, as per a previous post ~150 a week per character from pve activities already in the game.

    Hmmm...

😂 Don't we all? But that's an unrealistic expectation  I think there are enough sources as it stands. The issue is people want more from a single activity they enjoy more than others... That's not on ZOS to fix in my opinion.

It always amuses me when MMOS force players to do 'x' as the only means to acquire something like this (crafting items, recipes, gear upgrade items, etc.) .. often it seems to me it's simply trying to coerce players into content they loathe and have no desire to touch .. like PVP in general, Imperial City et. al. in particular.

If PVP gear is only available in PVE content it's simply lazy or coercive game design .. and vice versa for PVE gear.
