Sorc pets should now only require one ability slot with 5.1 changes

Again, we keep seeing the Matriarch in a vacuum. Sorc has not good selfhealing and survability once the shields nerfs hit. I´m sure Matriarch is a good skill which takes two slots, but the nerf will impact greatly on the class, to the point it will be one of the, if not the worst of all classes. (only magsorc and magden below in DPS but both with better selfheals, sustain and survability).

Many of the complains came in the form of blocking LoS, to be in cities, etc... Those issues could be changed without needing a such heavy nerf.

No sorc will use Tormentor after patch, not even without the nerf. Why take two slots if you can slot two DPS skills which will bring more DPS overall? Ok, sorry. i mean three counting Draedric (which noone would use if its not for the pet buff, the damage on it is really poor).

There are better ways than doing this, i proposed some in a threat here in the forums, to keep sorcerer damage without needing to nullify eveything.

Examples: (already written) make Dark Exchange instant and forget pets. Nerf Matriach as its on PST, but buff Daedric dmg so all together damage was close to live nowadays, so pets wont be anymore fire and forget and you must be forced to use skills for them to do damage, etc... As i said, i made a post explaining possible changes. The ones you proposed are really, really weak.

IF you play sorc healer, well, my condolences. You will do well with your stamsorc despite playing a vanilla class, and your petless sorc will be the one played so you wont notice many changes,... wait, you will notice them, your shields will be much worse and will have to switch AOE class dots to generic magicka ST dots. But those players who use and like to play with pets will notice it, and will be forced to stop doing so if they want to keep some competivity.

...but change pets to work the same way all other pets work except Wardens bear. 1 GCD to summon but only last 8/16 seconds depending on the morph you choose. No more permanent pets. That way you only have to single bar them. Do the same to wardens bear ultimate and shade to standardize all pet timers. Then they would be much easier to balance and play for people who play more than 1 class.

A slot is very valuable and it's not like these pets are consistent with their AI.
Should only have one reliable pet rather than two hardly useful ones that take up like 4 slots... they do not near make up for damage of other more incentive abilities. The only purpose of sorcerer pets these days are pure pvp obstacles that get in people's way. PvE content murders pets and takes forever to recast for a cheap inconsistent "ability" that other non sorcerer abilities can replace.

    Sorcerer pets look ugly.

I doubt most players have the skill to keep it up 100 perc of the time.

And arent they almost completely useless? A good pet sorc is a dead one

And that's exactly what I wouldn't want to see happen and why I voted no. You're essentially taking some of the game's more unique class abilities, with entire strategies built around both using them and fighting against them, and turning them into standard dots with an animal animation and bad AI. It would be like if they changed cloak so that it now works the same as vampire mist form but looks like cloak and sometimes doesn't work.

They don't have to make up for the damage of other abilities, and in fact they shouldn't because they have other benefits, if someone only cares about the damage there's plenty of other abilities for that. All they have to do is be solid enough so that someone who wants to use them because they want a pet build is able to work with them, without being so OP that people who want an easy button gravitate toward them. If that means they don't parse high enough for PVE DPS, who cares, there's plenty of abilities in game you wouldn't bring to a trial but might want to use while solo'ing or for PVP.

Oh I agree though, they're real ugly. I sometimes zoom in on the evil monkey one's face and I'm just like, why do I even have to look at that. Would be cool if we could re-skin them.

Why make classes if my entire bar would be filled with generic skill lines? Ah! ZOS is spelling those skill lines on the Crown Store... :astonished:

I personally prefer if it were an instant cast and one-barred, but only lasts say 30 seconds and you have to resummon when it expires or dies early.
