Maintenance for the week of April 6:
• [COMPLETE] ESO Store and Account System for maintenance – April 9, 9:00AM EDT (13:00 UTC) - 6:00PM EDT (22:00 UTC)

I think there is something wrong with the the way I view fun, looking at the patch.

All these people saying 'if you enjoy <blah>, you'll adapt'.

No. The enjoyable part for some of us were the precise skills and powers that are now poffed off into the trash bin.

If I ever decide to play my petsorc again, I don't want to have to use these other powers I've already used before and never liked the flow or feel of. I want to play the petsorc I used to play, and if I can't do that, yes, I will adapt.

I'll adapt my way right out the door and play some other game entirely.

Some of you need to, I dunno, leave the forum from time to time. There are other games out there; lots of them.

Not all of them are unregulated circuses led by drunken monkeys like this one.

Change is always a bit difficult at first, but after a week or two, you’ll wonder what all the fuss was about.

Yeah, what's the fuss about them rewriting 20 years of Bosmer lore? Nobody cares about TES history, nobody cares about all the time wasted leveling up stealthy wood elves. Nobody cares about absentee Lore Masters that rubber stamp the crazy stuff PvP devs come up with for PvE players (that doesn't even work in PvE.) Yeah, lets move on and try and figure out The Lore Of The Month. Maybe in a couple weeks Bosmer will lose their pointy ears and grow lower lip fangs, they'll become wood orcs and be the best tanking race in Tamriel. I can't wait!

magsorc is fine. still great dps. even with pets. part of your problem is you look at the patch notes, see your class get a change, and instantly give up. it takes dedication and practice to make something work. just because liko or someone rates a class lower doesn't mean you can't pull 80k on it. well, except magden i'll give you that. but your magsorc is fine.

You say Magden is struggling, but you love the class?

Well, how about this; you can never have the best class in the game. Balance changes things too much. All the doggarn time. What is OP one quarter is "trash" the next one.

You CAN, however, strive to be the BEST DAMN MAGDEN this game has ever seen. Is it possible? Maybe. I'd say that this is a good goal to strive for, though.

No one wants over powered builds, I get the conclusion that most people just want balanced builds.
Of course skills are going to get reworked, but, that's no excuse for rendering a class skill line totaly useless (sorcerer pets, shields and no self healing PVE anyone?).

When they fixed the racial passives they gave us free tokens to change race. Well I would say it's time to give us a class change token, because the changes to certain classes are so severe that the reason you picked them are gone.

It's not fun plating a class that underperformes trying to be the best "mag warden" as you said. Because if you would be the best mag warden, imagine what you could do on a better dps class with the same or less effort and still pull higher and easier numbers.

I don't like the way this is going, just look at the leaderboards and warden, total failure.

This is not the way to balance a game, it feels like we are 2-3 patches away from just taking away class skills and passives and just feel the homogenization spread. Only using weapon skills.

I'm the kind of person that prefer to rather be master at one thing than good at many.

This applies in gaming aswell. Hence my disappointment 2 years ago when I returned to the game after a long break and started a Warden to be main. I mostly PvE so that's one of the biggest mistakes in gaming I've done, clinging on to the hope of warden magica dps. I just can't play a class I know isn't the best at anything.

So I started a sorcerer and leveld everything again, researching traits and what not.
Most magica DPS classes have been close, except for warden.
But now the nerfhammer hits sorcerer PvE hard. The homogenization is real.

And I've just lost interest in logging in, I don't want 15 characters, I want 1 good, stable character. Not being in fear of always getting nerfed.

So I thought "well I've always liked tanking in other mmo, so maybe I should roll a DK and always have my no 1 spot".

But then it hit me, passives are getting a rework the patch after this. So everything can change. Again.

I've lost hope since my warden still is bottom tier. That's why I have no real fait in anything being fixed soon.

PUG will be harder with the changes to dps, it's not the 80k dps players that suffers it's the middleman who struggle to reach 30-40k. Or the ones that hit low will hit lower, it's a loss you feel more from 25k down to 15k, compared to 80k down to +70k.

I'm just unhappy with the way this game is being cared for.

I just want 1 character that I can do achievements with and all. And not fearing that my DD(if that's what I choose to play) will turn into a healer 1 year from now because it gets gutted or that homogenization becomes worse, so every class runs around with skills outside of their class skills, because they are better. A little likr it is becoming now.

Anyone share my frustration in this?

    I don't share your frustration.
I do share the way you look at fun. They've been leaching the fun out of this game for years now.

These changes to me are starting to feel like a dripping faucet of irritation. First, you don't really notice. Then you start thinking "gee, I wish this would stop." Then you call your landlord. And, all of a sudden, you hate your apartment and up and move because it's annoying just to cross the threshold when you go home.

And the landlord isn't picking up the freaking phone.

P.s.: partial quotes are a paion these forums, especially on mobil.

Some people come home after a hard day's work and want to relax and have some fun. They don't want to have to figure out how ZOS changed half their skills again this month. I'm (was actually) playing ESO for fun, not training for the Olympics.

I'm not too sure what to say. On one hand I feel you OP, I know how it feels when your class seems to be the brunt of the changes but then...

Its an mmo. There is no guarantee that whatever class you are playing will always stay that way, for years and years. You are trying to tie in a single player experience to a multi-player one. The nature of a competitive gaming scene is that you can't afford to stick to one class and expect it to be the best all the time, it's just not possible.

There's just too many factors to take into account. Just a simple example would be if you took your warden, and the warden is the best class to play yeah? Now, you have other players who plays maybe.. Dk and they say why are dks not top tier as well. So the devs make some changes and make dk top tier, above yours. Suddenly, you feel like hey, how come I'm on the same level as a nightblade? Pls nerf this. Then the players who plays nb say, how the hell, can a DK, which is suppose to be this tanky class, be top tier in dps? Pls nerf this. And so on and so forth.

Now, if you had said, perhaps warden should have kept their class identity, or perhaps, classes should keep class signature abilities, then I'm all for it. But if its just "I'm not playing this game because my class got gutted" then I'm sorry, wake up and smell the coffee.

The thing is single target is going up because of the new dots, and aoe is getting a kick in the nads. Builds that makes things like vMA and simpler builds viable are really what will feel the changes the most. The people that min/max will hit higher just like every patch before, but the people making pet sorc and werewolf builds to try and help learn new content won’t be viable anymore. The ceiling is going up while the bottom dps get worse. Things like this push away new players. That and class uniqueness is fading away while every mag/stam build uses maybe 1 or 2 class abilities and use the same rotation. They are making the game easier to balance, while removing the things that made the game feel special in the first place.
