So i just got the new expansion and noticed my character started there. Is that ok? Nothing so far seems to over powered for me as a level 5 but i am curious if i should really be here

It all scales now, start wherever you like. If you want to start more traditionally you should be able to wayshrine to your "original" starter zone. When all the expansions have come out they move the starting area to where that quest line begins.

So i can do this area and then move back to other areas to level? Awesome. Whats the max level currently?

    50 is the max "level"

After 50 you earn Champion Point (CP) levels.

160 CP is the max "CP level" in terms of gear you'll find (meaning once you're 160 you can begin finding your end-game gear)

810 CP is the CP cap

You can port and start anywhere you want now. You will also get level up rewards including a mount and storage. Zos made it very easy for new players, even easier for a returning players such as yourself. :)

Zos kept the max Cp a stagnant 810cp

Max level is 50. After that you earn Champion Points which help improve your build. Currently, you may use 810 Champion Points out of a maximum of 3600 that can be earned.

Every zone you enter will effectively be scaled to your level. The actual mechanic is all content is scaled to Level 50 / CP 150. Your characters are buffed to this equivalent. As your character progresses to Level 50, the buff is gradually reduced. However, if you continually equip gear at or near your character's level, you will maintain the effectiveness of the scaling buff.
