Where is ESO on the continuum based on your thinking? There is very little chance involved in ESO, so does that make it a skill-based game?
Unfortunately OP did not provide their thoughts in the OP but mostly just copied and pasted.
But yes, ESO is a skill based game when it comes to combat. If you are going up against a player or even with a group clearing a PvE trial it is tactics and skill that win the dame. The topic of esports is probably more distracting than anything else.
So let me ask you this, since you read my copy and paste post and apparently have a hard time understanding.
Do you feel ESO should be an Esport ?😂

✭This is the reason I don't care if I die in PVP. There is obviously a layer of skill in ESO, but that is drastically reduced by all of the proc cancer lagging the servers and going boom at random. I find myself getting annoyed if a solo player kills me, but then I'm like eh whatever. Cant win em all. Someone else's cheese can always be better than yours.1 -

No, no one sees what you're talking about because your post makes no sense. Are you saying that ESO isn't a skill based game? Because if that was true than everyone could do 90k dps and hundreds of guilds would have gotten the Godslayer of Sunspire achievement on day 1. Are you saying that you can only take a game seriously if its an esport? Well I would beg to differ, gaming is a hobby like any other and people can and do take their hobbies seriously. Also as paying customers we have every right to voice our discontent if the product we've paid for and in many cases continue to pay for on monthly basis is changed in a way that we do not approve of.1 -

And competition doesn't have to mean pitting two players against one another in combat. You look hard enough, every little facet of the game is competitive. You strive to trade better, PVE better, make more gold, or whatever your goal is for the game, even if your goal isn't directly based on other players' achievements, you're still competing against them.

and your point is... what exactly? that this game does require skill? or it doesn't?
some people are competitive when it comes to anything and everything. its their nature. however - this is NOT a requirement for something to be or not to be skill based. nor does it have anything to do with worshiping people or anything like that. yes. its a video game. its leisure activity for vast majority of people playing it. that doesn't mean it doesn't require skill or that people should be looked down on, when they wish to hone that skill. and it absolutely doesn't require that there are formal competitions with monetary prices in order to be skill based.
OP seems to be implying that ESO is not a skill based game, becasue its not part of esports competitive scene. which is kinda funny as there are things like professional poker which while requiring some skill to play, in the end is STILL a game of chance.dirty worthless casual.
