Both of them are getting nerfs, here are the relevant pts notes for the skills:
Conjured Ward:
Reduced the shield size of this ability and the Empowered Ward morph by approximately 18%, and increased the cost of this ability and the Hardened Ward morph to 4320 from 3510. These changes were done to make them more comparable to the damage shield / burst heal standard.
Empowered Ward (morph): The final cost of this ability is now 3780, and it no longer gains 1.1% shield size per rank as it already has a cost reduction rank up.
Hardened Ward (morph): Reduced the shield size of this ability by approximately 9%.
Annulment: Reduced the shield size of this ability and its morphs by approximately 9%.
Harness Magicka (morph): This morph no longer returns 3% of your Max Magicka when absorbing spell attacks. Instead, it restores 5% of the ability’s cost whenever it absorbs any damage. Note this value continues to increase per piece of Light Armor worn, and can still only occur up to 3 times per cast.

To the op, in pve, most people will not see a difference in ward size anyways, as the health cap is still there, cost increase will be felt, I get that. In PvP, wards are going to be smaller, yes, but they will still be a good size and still be able to give you more then your health bar. Something heals can't do

I think the change isn't to bad really. Currently I literally go PvP with PvE gear on my magsorc running ward alongside annulment and it feels to tanky if Im being honest. The change seems fair to meUnited we stand, divided we fall.0

I only have one character that uses a ward. For most of the content I do, I don't really need it. When I'm doing world bosses, though? He has really bad self heals and kind of relies on proactive defense. I think he will be okay, but things are going to be tougher. Which I would not mind so much if the game was not currently having so much issues with responsiveness and lag. XD1 -

I'll enjoy other classes and roles that generally don't rely on shields as much.

✭✭Conjured WardI'll run Hardened because a little extra protection will help Sorcs. But shields overall are just pathetic. More collateral damage from PVP balancing that makes little to no sense in PVE. I won't digress into a rant because it's painfully apparent that no one at ZOS is listening.1 -

If shields were bad for you post-"nerf"mire then that's mostly on you. Either crutching on them too hard in PVE or not building hard enough for them in PvP.4 -

- Trash Potions when feeling cheap: Regular CP150 Essence of Magicka pots that I obtain frequently from playing the game or Crown Tri-Restoration Potion obtained from dailies.
- Crafted Potions: Essence of Spell Critical (Bugloss, Lady's Smock, and Water Hyacinth). Without magelight this is my primary means of obtaining Major Prophecy on my Sorc, which increases my Spell Critical Rating. This also heals and restores magicka. Essence of Immovability (Columbine, Corn Flower, and Wormwood). I use this in PvP, since this gives me stealth detection, knockback immunity, and restores magicka (better to use it when competent allies are nearby, since it might reveal that you are surrounded by multiple players in stealth and you will not have an emergency pot available after use). Essence of Invisibility with only 2 ingredients (Blue Entoloma, Namira's Rot, Nirnroot, or Spider Egg). I use this in PvE content that requires stealth and if I need more speed I'll use Rapid Maneuver before using the potion. Essence of Invisibility with 3 ingredients (Blessed Thistle, Blue Entoloma, and Namira's Rot). Very useful in PvP alongside the vampire Dark Stalker passive, since you'll be invisible, ignore movement speed penalty while in Crouch, and you'll have a 30% movement speed boost from Major Expedition (I always have this slotted when riding from point A to B in PvP land, since gankers are always lurking). My templar/arcanist will mostly use Essence of Health (Tri-Stat Potion) Ingredients: (Mountain Flower, Columbine, and Bugloss).
