So I need to upgrade my GPU. I am looking at purchasing the 2080TI.
Now I want the Nvidia one with EVGA, but my friend says EVGA is trash. Can any pc players here give me some pointers?
I play on ultra settings always.

If you are going to shell out money for a new GPU in that series, you should pick up an RTX super.

I'd go with the auros watercooled 2080 oc . The ti is a massive cost for not much more bang and major heat issues. EVGA is a decent card but I would not through an xtra 500 bucks at it over a 2080 oc

EVGA is a great company! Never had a problem with any card of theirs that I have had.

This! I've owned both a 960GTX and a 1080 GTX within the EVGA brand, both have been excellent thus far.

My friend was saying that EVGA cards overheat and have horrible cooling systems, and that’s why they’re less money than like MSI.
I currently have a 1060 6gb, but it’s not strong enough to handle my modded Skyrim.

So you guys think the 2080ti is NOT worth it?

Can you guys link the ones you have so I can see what you are talking about

In the past few years, I've run ASUS, MSI, and EVGA cards of various types for several system builds. All have been trouble-free.

The graphics chips are all the same for any given series -- made by Nvidia (or AMD). Reputable manufacturers will use high quality components in the auxiliary circuits like the voltage regulators and memory, and will pay attention to good heatsink and fan designs.

My reasons for buying each card went like this -- when needed a GTX 960, and ASUS offered one with a factory overclock and extra RAM. When I needed a GTX 1060, MSI had the best prices for the specs I wanted (In a sea of basically identical cards) and has always been a solid brand. When I wanted a GTX 1080, EVGA offered a card with both a factory overclock and an improved heatsink and fan controller system -- and it's proved to be a top performer. They've all been great.

EVGA is still seen as the "new" kid on the block among the high-end graphics card manufacturers. But they've been at it long enough to be in the same league as MSI, ASUS, and other motherboard manufacturers that make up the top tier.

Please I need some more pointers. I keep reading mixed things on the card

    I’m stuck! 2080 or 2080ti?

I play elder scrolls and fallout heavily modded for large battles, call of duty cross platform when it comes out.

I’m an admitted newb when it comes to pc parts.
    So pleeeeeeeass help

You should know you will see little if any gain from buying a top of the line GPU in this game.

What resolution does your monitor support?

Ok so that’s the thing (no judgement)
I had a 1060 and played on a 50in 1080p tv and had no input lag.
Now I’m playing on a 75in 4K tv and still no lag, but heavy graphics cause FPS drops. This happened on the other tv too. I don’t have an area for a desk or setup

For a 4K TV a GeForce RTX 2070 Super or RTX 2080 should be more than enough. The RTX 2070 Super, while not quite a facsimile of the RTX 2080, offers 96% of the RTX 2080’s performance for 71% of the price.

That’s what I was thinking. What about the RTX 2080 OC?

Never had a Gigabyte graphics card myself, so I can't say if this brand is good or not. But yikes, these RTX cards are expensive. Could have bought both my two last MSI cards for that amount of money.

First off what are you doing with the hardware?

If you are simply playing games and not going to do any major overclocking(as in overvolting, bios tweaks, etc) then any AIB reference board is going to work fine.

If you plan to overclock using software like MSI but don't really want to go crazy then purchase from a manufacturer with an aftermarket cooling solution such as MSI, Sapphire, or ASUS. Please note that just because it says "ASUS" or any other manufacturer DOES NOT mean that it uses a superior cooler. If it looks like reference(what Nvidia sells on their website) then it's going to behave just like a reference board.

You also need to consider which brand. You said you wanted NVIDIA which is fine and dandy but you should know that NVIDIA only "top bins" their personal brand from their own store. With NVIDIA cards you will never get the highest binned product from a third party manufacturer and thus will never get the highest possible OC potential except from Nvidia themselves.
Third-party sellers are only selling you pre-overclocked solutions and custom cooling solutions. You pay for someone else to do the work basically.

A final consideration is what is your monitors refresh rate and screen size? Buying a 2080TI for a 1080p monitor is utterly pointless. A 2060 can power any 60hz 1080p monitor equally as powerfully as a 2070 or 2080. It would be like putting an 800hp motor in a Prius. The Prius will die before it can use all that power. Your monitor won't die but your GPU will never push past 10% utilization wasting your money. Now if you do have a 4k 240hz monitor then you will need a larger beefier card to reach maximum performance. Just don't overbuy.. its something a ton of people do every single day and its a flat out waste of hundreds of dollars that could be spent on better upgrades.

Also consider if you only play ESO a 660gtx from 2012 can pretty much run the game at max in 99% of situations.

    My recomendations would be:

    1080p 60hz: 1660, 570, 590
    1080p 120+hz: 1660, 590, 2060
    1440p 60+hz: 2060, 2070
    4k anything : 2070, 2080, 2080ti

Edit// Brand is meaningless except for support purposes and quaility of cooling solutions. Buy whatever is in season.
Exception "box store brands" like Zotec. They work.. but they cheap out on things and that can reduce lifespan.

I literally just gave you advice to just get the RTX Super if you are even considering the TI. Performs better. Less ‘overengineered’ cooling so less overheating across most brands...

I have ran gigabyte, Asus, MSI and they all perform well if you keep them at stock. OC is easier with MSI afterburner software and setting up custom fam curves etc. Though.

Also... there is only 20ish games that support ray tracing right now. So keep that in mind. If you are just wanting a boost over your 1060 to run 4K.. a 1080ti would be fine.

Well.. I use a EVGA 1080 and run my heavily modded skyrim at 60fps non stop :) no cooling issues.
    ESO runs mostly at 100fps..
My CPu is I9 9900K running at stock frequency, 3.6Ghz.. EVGA is great and you will not have any issues with it :)
I have seen problems with the cards if you overclock them alot though.. but if you just use it normally you should not face any problems :)

I always use gpu.userbenchmark and videocardbenchmark to see stats. It covers brands too! Maybe it will help you choose.
PC NA DC 4eva! I try my very best. If it is not good enough for you too bad! Playing off and on since April 2014 CP2009.
