Enough Combat Changes!!!

Every 3 months ZOS changing combat system, gears, and skills, etc. After every patch, I try to grind and drop the new sets and I try to upgrade them to legendary(some of them which are needed). then trying the new builds and spending millions of golds and hours to level it and get used to playing style. Then I say yes that's it and ZOS comes and making again major changes.

Those changes causing, losing too much time, to much gold, too many materials for the players. And I want to play and enjoy the builds that I made, I want to see how it goes and I want to see my investments in the game. Already making and getting used to a new build is like 1 month so I can play it for only 2 months.

ZOS pls make major game-breaker changes in EVERY YEAR, not every 3 MONTHS. You can still add content but don't touch the combat system for a year. Collect feedbacks and datas 1 year and then make the major changes. Leave as a little bit time that we can play the game and see how it really goes.

Thank you.

If you want less changes in the game, play the PTS (if you can't because you play console urge someone on PC to do it)....expose broken builds before they go live... Some people get on the pts and find the broken builds... and then hide them....Then they wait until these broken builds go live and exploit the hell out if it...

Then it becomes what people call the "meta"...

Then people like you jump on that meta bandwaggon and farm items to be like somebody who used a broken build....

Now you are angry they fixed the broken build...

The only thing you should be angry about is veiled heritance...As they have changed that set and ravager into an unviable dependant on etc. can't stand alone sets... once live im going to go multch it...even though I golded it... it will be my lesson never to gold items that arent legacy like hundings rage..

If they ever touch hundings rage to nerf (not buff, i welcome buffs!!)...instant uninstall for me... at that point zos lost any sight of game balancing...and had no true foundation to begin with...

We adapt and move on but yes it is very frustrating! I'm still covering one eye waiting for them to reveal their plans for the future of champion points too, eek ;)

Another example of ZoS not respecting the player's investment. Poor customer service is going to ultimately tank this game - ignoring game performance, drastically changing classes while prohibiting class change, higher emphasis on aggressive micro-transactions, etc. It's all there for anyone to see. ZoS will likely have to learn the hard way when droves of their player base leave in the coming months for other games because they refuse to act on customer demands. ZoS still hasn't learned that ESO is OUR game, not theirs.

This is exactly what they want from you. If they didn't change anything, you wouldn't have to grind and might get bored with status quo and find an alternative game . But making you grind is a way to keep you engaged in the game.

I agree. I got blue warrior fury gear and spent ages crafting, farming, refining, deconstructing all to get the stuff to gold.
Then without anyway warning, zos decides to make changes. I’m not happy abut that. What about average players like me who spend a lot of time and effort to get stuff to gold and then get changes ? Not all of us are eso millionaires with loads of time to play the game. What do you expect me to do ? Deconstruct everything and then spend the next few months rebuilding everything again ? Bet I’m not the only one. There’s probably thousands of guys like me, average casual guy who has to start all over.
Not happy, doubt I’ll keep playing to be honest. Can’t spend my time building something then getting changed.

You do realize that shaking up the status quo every 3 months in big and small ways is just what ZOS does, yeah?

Its called horizontal progression, and we've had it since One Tamriel.

    So its not going away.

I suggest you either resign yourself to chasing the new meta every 3 months or accept that you can make do with slightly-less-good-than-the-meta gear and just have fun playing how you want.

I don’t think I’ve ever had 100% meta gear. I get close, and I keep a lot of non meta sets in case they change. As long as I can pull my weight with 2nd tier gear, I’m fine, and non meta is less likely to get sweeping changes.

Well, when you focus on character and story the "most effective tactic available" is to use what fits your character, which rarely if ever is impacted by any of the changes Zenimax makes. Join the club! We're stress free (mostly)!

I expect more changes through 2019 as they gradually do the skill audit and combat system rework the new director outlined in his plan. At some point later this year or early 2020 we will likely see it come together more cohesively with fine tuning. I am betting that in the long run, it will improve the game, despite some short-term growing panga during the process. When I look at the system and the changes both this far and upcoming, I see more order and an actual plan and process that makes sense as opposed to meta changing merely for the sake of shaking things up.

Having a plan for how to change gameplay, builds, skills, and sets every 3 months is still having the same effect: shaking things up every 3 months to keep gameplay "fresh" and promote horizontal progression. The Devs just have a plan for upcoming changes.

ZOS isn't going to give up on horizontal progression, so even once this plan has been worked through, we'll continue to see ZOS change the game meta, pretty much for the sake of changing the game meta. That should be obvious - the continued health of ESO is to some degree dependent on the game not becoming stagnant and boring for players and the easiest/ most cost-efficient way to keep the game from becoming stagnant is to change up the meta.

Exactly. It's one thing for an unemployed college student to grind new characters, skills, sets, materials, and gold... but for someone with less play time frequent massive changes are disheartening and offputting.

Honestly, I find the key to avoiding all the disappointment and irritation is to have as few characters as possible. Having no expectations and attachments to builds also helps. Only play and main the sub-classes that you truly enjoy instead of trying to be a jack-of-all-trades -- that way, when nerfs happen across the board, you'll have less to worry about.

Last week I deleted my StamNB, MagNB, and Stamden, who were all above AR 18 and had achievements like Flawless Conqueror and Shadow Breaker, because I didn't truly enjoy them as much as my main characters and I'm not willing to rethink an armada's worth of builds and gear every patch or two. Now, I've only got my StamDK and StamSorc, whose sets and playstyles are getting nerfed next patch, yet I'm not freaking out since I can update their builds for patch 5.1 with little investment and effort because they are just two characters.

ZO$ even admitted that they were going to try and do more subtle, less "nerf hammer" style changes, Then they drop these patch notes.
Its daft - annoying and inconsistent and really makes the player feel more disconnected with there characters,
Just FIX THE LAG!! thats all we want!

I'm also tired of constant nerfs. Why they never buff old sets?
It seems like they are doing place for a new chapter/DLC content instead.

No, because it used to take skill and knowledge to fish, but they dumbed it down to where they tell you what's in the fishing hole and what kind of bait to use. A couple people cried about fishing being to difficult and stressful, so they got their hand held and had Big Daddy ZOS cast their little poles for them.

They'll give you a dreamy QOL fishing buff, but they will gut your Swift and Major Expedition so you have to crawl at a snail's pace to get to the fishing holes. Go figure.
