The 2h attack animation is so bad

light and heavy attack...am i the only one really bothered by it? I know its a small thing but my nails curl every time i see it - the mother of all wet noodles...

I so wished theyd overhaul it or alternatively alter the speed so the first portion is a bit slower and the second faster to give more impact feel (similar to wreck. blow)

there are a lot of rather bad animations in the game compared with other mmo (gw2 for example)...heroic slash is another one....but the 2h attack is probably the worst

    This is why I don't play stam in general. None of the weapons have a feeling of impact. Feels like I'm swatting enemies with pillows B)

    no, your not at all the only one, it bothers the crap out of me.

    your character throws the weapons like a 7 year old with a stick that's to heavy, then lets it go on this wild swing holding it with one hand, before finally lumbering it back to neutral position like it weighs 50 pounds.


    for those of you who don't know about throwing cuts (that's the term) this is all terrible. you have to be:

    -super precise with edge alignment, you cannot just randomly swing it.
    -only through with enough power to actually cut, but not so much that they could parry or avoid it or you might open yourself up for a counter.
    -throw and recoil cuts fast.

    this is NOT what happens in ESO, I HATE the 2h animation in eso, in fact I think the only animations I really like are sword and board, their in no way perfect but they are faster.

    I feel basic animations are super important, and wish they would go back and fix them. things like basic attacks, running, walking, etc. things your going to do a million times need to look and feel great.

    2H is GARBAGE, animation wise.

    The problem with animations for martial weapons is that you need one animation that can fit three different weapon types such as a sword, an axe or a maul and you need to make sure that your character stays where he is. That's quite a challange but what I don't understand is why 2h has very slow and clunky animations. Uppercut is legit a golf swing, I wish they would change the animation into a 2-3 hit combo like Furry or remove the channel time entirely. Look how fast and fluent a longsword fight can be:

    Elder scrolls games always had bad 2h animations. I always felt like i was flailing a bat rather than attacking with a sword.

    i really dont think thats the issue...a slash or a crush can look identical gamewise and the dw weapons have the same limitations but already look much better...its really speed and impact...

    im missing gw2 animations really a lot...they are very good for an mmo

    might be a goof idea to turn some into combinations...even if unrealistic but good looking rather then being so slow

    gw2 has weapon type based animations as the skills change depending on what weapon you use - that makes it certainly better...but gw2 animations in general look really good and crisp...

    I’ve always hated 2h because it’s so clunky and yes the light attack animation looks very bad but sadly I’m still forced to run a 2h in PvP for the rally heal for my NB. Maybe in the future they’ll do an animation overhaul or something similar but don’t hold your breath on that one.

    Most of them would probably be considered an ultimate for eso standards haha but that's cool. Let's hope for the best!

    Sadly, animations in general aren't exactly this game's strong suit. A lot of them could use some work.

    Animations in general is pretty bad in eso and combat feels really floaty

    It feels waaay to heavy, like a baseball bat almost. Here's a look at what the real thing looks like. It's only a greatsword though, But let's remember that batlleaxes and mauls wouldn't really weigh more, just be a bit more top-heavy:

    Nah leave it alone...I like it in its current form, it lets me cancel things I shouldn't be able to and do massive damage compared to other weapons. Specifically the 2H sword. Keep that quiet though, please! We dont't need ZOS to nerf anything more!
