Flowers/Potions & their pricing.

Dear Zenimax, ESO Community & Moderators,

I hope this discussion finds you well!

Even with the double node drops in Hews bane & Gold Coast, flower prices have still managed to increase. i.e For example Corn Flower has increased on an average by 50g in the past 10 days.

Yes, thank you I make around 100K+ an hour by just bending over and picking up flowers. But let's see the bigger picture here.

With Imperial City being now locked to 2 Zones, Community Increase from the success of the game and Players hoarding flowers, the prices of flowers will only Increase ultimately Increasing Potion prices from demand/supply.

Until when will this be okay? Is it the intention to make best in slot potions hard to obtain? (If Yes Disregard the below)

Please find below a list of possible solutions:

1) Make tel vars drop at a higher rate. ( Thus making the grind in IC more worthwhile and killing players with tel-vars)
2) If you wanna sell out, Keep Every Month on rotation a different DLC area to drop double nodes as in the current thieves/dark brotherhood guild events.
3) Make Potions available from vendors at a set price, so that buying at a higher price would not be worthwhile.

Now my comments on my own suggestions:

Suggestion 3 is probably a really bad suggestion.

Suggestion 1 would encourage more of an accomplishment effect to your brain from killing someone with ALOT of tel-vars or grinding alot of tel-vars when not many people around. This would ultimately release dopamine in the accomplished user's brain making a more addiction effect to ESO. :D

Suggestion 2 would probably be the best, everyone would be in a win-win situation, More sales of DLC`s=More Money !!!!!!! Or even ESO plus Memberships! Demand/supply would still be in effect, but a player that would need 200 Pots for a trial could go for a 30 min run and collect them without having to give a kidney.

I'm I overreacting? I'm I Just a poor player that sees giving 45k for 200 Spell Power Pots too much? Do I have a point?
Please comment below, for I am still undecided also.

It would help if alchemy surveys got buffed and if hirelings gave satchels or just plants

Me and bunch of friends just delete our alchemy surveys, it's just not worth doing and if you see worthless plant nodes, than it was a huge waste of time and I have plenty other more worthwhile surveys I could be completing

I think the IC changes are fine though, it was way too empty before and you actually have to work harder to earn and keep your stones

No, you are placing your needs on how you play the game over others. You likely spend hours in trials and pvp earning rewards

Others spend hours farming mats you need to play that way.

Why should the market be adjusted to make the rewards (earnings) for their gameplay less rewarding just so your gameplay can be more rewarding for you (cost less in game gold).

The current market balance is fair, doing what you ask takes from one player and gives to another (you) that is just selfish.

Supply and demand... If the demand is high, prices will rise. No matter what you do.
You want something free, then you need to "waste" a bit of your time picking up items/nodes whatever you're referring to.

    So:

    1) Leave the telvar drop ratio as it is.
    2) Double node events I like them but no need to have them every month.
    3) Capping item pricing? No.

I made and still make millions farming TV but the changes have just brought in 15 man groups who are quite happy to get 1k TV from a boss that takes 2 mins to solo for 15k - They're legit making less than they would farming the derelict loops underneath solo.

The alternative is to go Coldharbour or one of the other 2 heavy plant loops (Away from double drop events) and pick 25-40 of each plant an hour (Though that's about as efficient as TV farming in a 15 man group and is even more contested).

Admittedly, changes in IC would be good, especially if they opened up the sewers to bonus % gain so you could acquire more than 20k p/h - This has so many benefits without any real downside and would only really affect prices a small amount.

Make more gold instead of spending so much time in trials.

Completely agree, I made a living out of selling crafting materials in EQ2, if folks want to do it here that's just part of their story. If you didn't have people harvesting and selling stuff you would have to do it yourself, as it is you pay a fair price for someone to do this for you.
After all its supply and demand.

@SoLooney, you are aware of the nifty little trick to get better plants from your alchemy surveys?

Approach survey site...… check what plants are showing DO NOT TOUCH..... retreat a distance away from survey, then return, the flowers will have reset/changed.

Keep doing until required plants are present!

Now this is a thing I do when I'm bored, it quickly becomes a pain..... however when doing it, I never harvest until I have at least 3 cornflower nodes! Then I pray my CP bonuses kick in on those! :p

I know about that but I just don't care, I won't go back and forth until corn flower appears. My stack of corn flower allows me to play as I wish without caring so much (around 2k on my crafting bag atm)

    I appreciate that!

Thank you for the comment, one of the agrees is mine. I didn't think of it that way.

Congratz, you got lucky, when i see nodes for plants I dont care, then that survey is useless to me

Bet you won't get all those cornflower nodes all bunched up in the next several ones you do

If you don't like the plants you see, move away and back. Or log out and back in. Before touching the survey plants.

I main a healer... use spell power pots exclusively, and I have NO supply issues. I do writs, I collect the surveys, I get lots and lots of corn flower.

The "supply issue" is only an issue because people refuse to do the activities in the game that give them the supplies. ZOS has provided the opportunity to get those mats, will you use it?

With alchemy surveys I only get like four flowers a patch for I think 5 patches or 6. That is twenty four flowers a survey. And if I use a khajiit to collect the nodes it seems that only nineteen or twenty flowers are actually collected. What is Cat doing with other flowers?

    Tri-Pot

    other pots for immovable

    crit pots

    speed pots

and slow/ low flower yield make this one a tired person on flowers. Not to mention I have allergies this is rough. ZOS could we get some Forum Fertilizer dusted across the face of Nirn to increase flower yield ?

    Thank You !!

Base is 4 or 6 per node. The Plentiful Harvest passive can double this to 8 or 12. There are always 6 nodes per survey. I've gotten 30 corn flower from one survey before (I've probably collected ~1,000 of them at this time, definitely not the norm). I also don't play the game where you can "reset" the alchemy survey before you've touched it.
