Technically it is not, because it is not giving you direct combat advantage vs other players, but pvp is only one aspect of eso.

We have a lot of pve aspects of this game, so for example if for someone crafting is their "thing", then craft bag is p2w for them. It would not be the case if for example bank space would allow to keep all types of crafting materials (one stack of top tier). But for that one would need somthing like
280 - 300 slots.
Also craft bag can be p2w when it comes to trading guilds.

Btw. Is it only me or they rolled back mobile version of forums to previous "skin" ?

Craft bag is p2qol, slimy but not p2w.

Crown riding lessons are p2w because riding is pretty needed for Cryo PvP (if it worked). Classic "make something take unreasonable time and then sell solution" p2w.

I disagree. Craft bag does not enable the player to achieve something that would not be possible without it(which is *my* definition). It just makes the process more comfortable.

If you couldn't learn 9th trait unless you had the craft bag, that would be pay to win.

These - pay to win - threads are becoming a bit absurd.

If you ever played another game like ESO, then you would notice that in most of those games you have to pay for extra inventory/bank slots.

Sometimes I wish they just went back to a pay to play model like WoW.

Is a thing pay to win is almost never an interesting question to ask, it just degenerates to people trying to figure out what the term "pay to win" should mean exactly.

When it comes to craft bag, pay to not waste time is pretty accurate I think. You either waste time choosing what you pick up whenever you loot, or you waste time managing your various inventories. I have what seems like a thousand or so stacks of items in my crafting bag, that is a ridiculous amount of crafting materials in comparison to your inventory sizes.

Eh I mean if you play the game for a bit longer crafting bag gets almost mandatory unless you are ready to spend alot of time managing gear with extra chests in your house, mule alts, seperate banking guilds etc.
I think that falls under the so called pay for convenience, even though I think id pay 30k crowns to get permanent crafting bag without sub.
But then no one would sub so that wont happen, Im pretty sure most subs only sub for the crafting bag and nothing else.

The crafting bag is a convenience item. It makes life easier for crafters.

It is in no way pay to win. How does it make you more powerful? It doesn't. It just saves your bank and inventory from drowning. Also saves you from having to make a bunch of mule characters whose sole existence is to hold stuff.

While you can play most aspects of the game without a large bank/bag/crafting bag, in fact your are crippled and certainly can't play the "crafting" bit of the game.
Of course there is no real "win" in this game, and you will come along when you are limiting yourself to certain aspects of the game, it's no fun at all when doing all apsects of the game.
(Initially it wasn't that bad, but as more ingredients, sets, collectibles, writs, trasure maps and whatnot were introduced, inventory became more stuffed. I can't imagine throwing away hundreds of items when going back to non-plus...)

The biggest problem with craft bag imho is that the game is beeing balanced around it (and ESO +) as opose to what regular player has. Otherwise, ZOS would regulary update max bank space, every time they add new crafting material type.

This is basically: "Introduce a problem, and then sell a solution for it".

As a result, something that was totally optional, now becomes almost necessary.

Otherwise for example (if you are not using craft bag), you basically dont have your bank, as all slots there are taken by crafting materials.

Also, skyshards and now guild skill lines on PTS are now buy-able. This creates a grim vision of the future, as most likely, what will come next is instant level 50 upgrade.
And at that point the balance will sease to exist, as Zenimax will start to create more obvious power creap, to squize more money out of players. You want to win at pvp / pve scoreboards ? Just buy new level 50 toon, and you better do it fast, becuse it is getting nerfed next month, to make room for new OP stuff that we decide will be OP next month, so you could delete & rebuy new level 50 charater...

Rant over.
I do hope I am wrong and this will never happen... But some ZOS actions make me think that way... Sorry.

When I open up my craft bag, and get a unique ESO+ buff that gives me bonus:
- Weapon Damage
- Spell Damage
- Weapon Crit
- Spell Crit
- Critical Damage
- Max Stamina
- Max Health
- Max Magicka
- Physical Penetration
- Spell Penetration
- Physical Resistance
- Spell Resistance
- Critical Resistance
- Any other Major/Minor buff not listed here

Then, and only then, could it be considered Pay 2 Win, and only if it is a unique buff that cannot be obtained by normal in game methods. Even if ESO+ gave you a choice of a permanent Dubious/Wtichmother's effect, as long as it doesn't stack with food it's NOT P2W.

Y'all need to grow up, get a job, and just buy the membership.

Every monster set that has Health as base stat or any stat that is possible to use on both on stamina and magica should not be claimed to be pure stam og mag set.

Valkyn Skoria is the one set that can be used independent on max stat as it has health and trigger from DoTs (both poison, bleeds for stamina or every DoTs that mag get from elemental damage or magica damage). It depends more on your allocation of where you will use health to get to necessary level to survive on your character from using a Glyph or food/drink to compensate for this. It is also depending on range: melee or ranged procs from sets.

As for the "need" farm monster sets, there are other combination where you get 2 sets that you can buy in GS or otherwise farm so there is more a need created by believing that you (player) need to have those monster set to be competitive is wrong. Use Head and Should for 5 PC bonus sets and get 2 PC set for weapon or other parts.

There will also be changes in next patch on how to get what as for Monster sets. You only need to pay the price as in using your dungeons key to get what you want.

That would make:

Every Big house
Every cosmetic
Every Memento which is crown-store exclusive
Most Costumes
Most mounts
Some Skin (like blood-forged or zombie)
Some personalities (like zombie)

should be considered pay to win since you can only get it by buying.

Even if you have a coffe between two boss should be; if you don't buy said coffee you can't have it.

Seriously:

As long as WHATEVER_ITEM does NOT alter the game balance should NOT be considered P2W. Period.

It's Pay to WIN not "pay to have", unless the bag gives you some advantage in a fight it can't fall in P2W category.

Still...

It's a QoL improvement so big that I (personally) believe the game is barely playable without it (not for being "unable to win" but more for being "unable to move more than 10 minutes without having to sell/dismantle things").
If you really really ask me it's more like a free app that have many many ads unless you unlock the ad-free version for some bucks. Not P2W tho

Well for those of us who bought the game at it's original eye-wateringly high price, then had no choice but to sub and there was no craft-bag, I guess we were paying to lose? Serioiusly though, it's really a reward for those who support the game through subbing. Whilst I take issue with a lot of ZoS monetization tactics (and just because they're not P2W doesn't make them any less slimy), they have to offer something special to get and keep people subbing.
