Title says it. I now have google fiber and my test speeds blow my old *** internet test speeds out of the water. However, my game now sits at a steady 15-20 fps. What happened, and can Ii fix it?

The only variables that changed are the move (to a bigger city), and an internet (UPGRADE).

Why is this happening it should be the exact OPPOSITE...

    firewall settings?
putting network in power savings mode?
    reset modem/router/network

check hardware manager and firewall settings first

You can have the fastest isp in the world but if their routing to the backbone is rubbish you might as well be on a 28k modem

    FPS issues are usually client-side.

    Ideas that may help:

Check to make sure you set ESO as an exception with your antivirus software+ firewall settings. If you think you checked this before, check it again to make sure.

Go to your graphics card control panel and make sure ESO is utilizing your graphics card and not "integrated graphics".

Turn water reflections to low or off, then shadows to low.

    Lower view distance to 50 - 75%.

You presumably moved your computer (assuming it's a desktop; if it's a laptop ignore these suggestions) as well yourself. Is it possible anything got damaged/isn't connected properly?

Movement can cause interior dust to resettle somewhere new causing a short/conductivity loss/overheating of something that it wasn't before. Get some compressed air and clean that sucker out; also check all interior connections while you are at it, sometimes things get loose from vibrations/movement, not enough to stop working , but, sometimes enough to hamper performance.
Whenever I relocate a desktop the first thing I do is re-seat all the hardware.

If the OP can do it I would recommend this as well.

You're only giving half the needed info. What was FPS Before google fiber?

    Hardwired or router?
Might need a hotshot router. Does Google fiber provide an "All in one?" Those are never really good.

I have Google fiber as well make sure your pc is hard wired to the Google modem. The Google wifi in the modem is trash FYI. also don't stack modems That will decrease your connection.

Check hardware connections, something might get loose in transport, check CPU and GPU temperature.

    Edit:
Oh you may also check voltage on your hardware is it fitting the norm (depends on hardware).

OCCT - good software for hardware testing and check, but be aware you may fry your rig if you push it to hard ;)

40-60 here, I get drops like that when an add on is out of date.

Slightly.. if his NIC is offloading a *** ton of data to his CPU then maybe.

But he’d have to be downloading a ton of data and really putting that new google fiber to work.

FPS is your computer being able to generate frames per second. You want this high. The vast majority of cases this will be on your end, very few network related problems will cause an FPS drop. The only thing I can think of, network related, that might cause an FPS drop is if your computer is being prompted to update something or is trying to reconfigure things and is draining resources.

PING is how long it takes for a packet of information to move through a network. You want this low. This, assuming your hardware is working and setup correctly, will usually only slow down due to events out of your control. Weather, broken lines, server provider outages etc.

Changing your service provider and your location may impact your ping, but should not impact your FPS at all. You may have to re seat your computer components as moving a tower can have issues.

It was quite common at LAN events that you would put your tower on its side on the desk, pop the ram out, put it back in, then sit it up and plug it in. Dust and all sorts of garbage can get into places it shouldn't be.

Things to re seat would be your Ram and your GPU. Just pull them out and put them back in, no need to blow on it like it is a nintendo. If you have compressed air that will help.

I have to ask, only because I met someone ESO who actually did this...

Is your HDMI/DVI Cable plugged into the Motherboard, or the GPU?

If you accidentally plug it into the motherboard, you're not getting your GPU power, which would explain the loss in power.

Servers, dude. Servers... Servers are under performing, worst than ever!
I don't have a super fast connection but this is the only game I get lag on.
You can even move close the physical location of the server, your game will still lag.

    UPDATE:

I followed the first few suggestions, made those changes, and am back up to 60 fps on high settings. Thank you all, and if anyone else has issues or wants to, give those suggestions a shot maybe you will have success also!

Particle effect can really have a large impact in some places as for frame rates. Reduce it to minimum and see if that have any effect, OP.

Turn off anti aliasing (FXAA) can also help. Use Control Panel to set AA instead in your video cards driver (for Nvidia GPU).

If you want proper help then add at least your hardware configuration in spoiler tag (click on paragraph symbol where there is a small arrow and you should see three option, one is spoiler tag).

You can use hardware info, GPU-Z and CPU-Z (all are apps that you can find through google and download for free) to get the most essential information and make a text document which you copy from that.
