Will this have any real impact or will it just be more Jewelry Master writs I automatically delete? I have kept a few that are 100+ writs, but even those are likely a waste and clog my bank space.

It seems like they are not addressing the true problem, but I could be missing something, so I wanted to ask our other esteemed readers.

I got 1 on the PTS, it was for 30 vouchers, blue, but Swift... so not worth it. If the same one was infused (which do show up on live), that would be worth doing, it'd be pretty equivalent to the WW/BS/Cloth ones that currently drop.

I agree they need to adjust the drops. Jewelry hireling and increase chromium grain drop chance from writs to 30% from 20% to match all the other crafts

    Well that seems ok.

Interested to see how much the epic and legendary writs have increased by,i suspect not enough.

Call me a pessimist but I have a feeling that if/when they introduce blue quality master jewelry writs, that those plating's price will suddenly go up:

Both due to the greed of players, taking advantage of higher demand for the plating's and due to those that dolmen farm jewelry, hoarding their plating's to use on their own jewelry writs, reducing the supply available on guild stores.

But hopefully with Summer-set/jewelry crafting becoming more accessible, the dolmen trains in the Alik'r desert, will provide adequate supply too keep down prices.

God knows how many vendor-ed the jewelry, they got from dolmens before, hopefully more will take the time to decon and make/sell the plating's now.

Of course the prices will rise... Supply and demand.

It isn't greedy to price something higher that more people want. That is common logic.

What will the market bear though? If the price of green and blue platings go up too much, people will destroy the jewelry master writs just like they do today with purple and gold.

The only jewelry master writs I've been keeping are worth over 100 vouchers and as I collect more I think I'll be upping that limit. The coming changes don't seem to make purple and gold jewelry master writs a better value.

I don't know if there's a scale for gold BS/WW/Cloth master writs but I just checked the average price for iridium and chromium platings. At 342g/voucher, a legendary jewelry master writ should pay out a bit over 1000 vouchers.

That could be and it is fine. Those selling at a higher price will either not sell or need to lower their price in that case.

Prices should go to what people will pay, not some arbitrary lower amount.

An example is that I finally got the Jugged Rabbit Preserves recipe today as my crafting daily drop. I was so excited that I looked at guild vendors in one area (Grahtwood) and found the Longfin Pasty for 19K. Still too expensive, but within my range so I bought it. It seems to usually be 50-60K, so a low priced one got bought while the others did not. I wanted it, but I didn't demand someone drop their price so I could have either of them.

I might do some of these simply because I've given up on actually using jewelry crafting for... actually crafting gear for myself. Which, of course means they still haven't really addressed the problem that is the ridiculous grains system of jewelry crafting.
