I am pooor, well not close to a million anyways. I was nearing 500k, but then I gave my bud some gold so she could by her first real proper house. She was quite happy to get out of the free AD closet.
I know doing writs on all characters gives you a nice amount of gold per day, but it sounds realllly tedious.

We fight for The Daggerfall Covenant.
We fight for The Aldmeri Dominion.
We fight for The Ebonheart Pact.
We fight for Tamriel!
I have about 30,000 right now and soon that will be a lot less because I'm planning to buy 3 dawn-prisms.
I don't think of earning gold as something to aim for, it's just an intermediary step - so I only worry about having enough to buy the next thing I want, and when I have enough I spend it and start over. The only time I let it build up is when I don't have an immediate use for it. I also don't really get involved in trading. 2 of my social guilds will use their guild store and one occasionally has a trader but even then I just sell recipes, motifs and materials I don't need to get them out of my inventory. I'd rather spend my time doing quests and exploring than farming stuff to sell, and I doubt I'd have enough time in-game to meet the requirements for a trade guild even if I wanted to, so I'll never be one of these people regularly earning a million gold+ in a week.
(If anyone's curious the most I've ever had was just under 500,000 - just before I bought Mournoth Keep. At some point I'm going to save up enough for the Alinor Townhouse, which is over 1 million so that will probably be my record for quite a while.)

About 2.3 mill in the bank at the moment, would have more but would rather spend than save much more that a few million and would rather spend gold on mats, than go do the surveys building up in my bank.
I had just over a million 2 months ago but bought a lot of furniture and now only have 100,000. I want a lot more houses and furniture so I need to save like crazy.
1.3. I had a little over 2 but since I dumped ESO+ I had to spend gold to get a bit of bank space back. Was going to buy the house in Riften but that would leave me with next to no gold left and after playing two other MMO's, I realized how annoying and long it takes to build gold up in this game is.

Housing isn't cheap. I would have much more if I wasn't so into virtual shinies. I have furnished my Silent Spring Demesne (bought with gold, the imperial large house), Ebonheart Chateau (bought with gold, EP manor), Psijic Villa and now working on my Hall of Lunar Champion. Also gear is draining away my stockpile of gold. And yes, I will always stop everything to pick up the corn flower.
No more money issues since I joined trade guilds. When I started I was like "100 gold for fast travel?! I'll walk." and now it's "800 gold pieces? Whatever."

I'm poor again as I dropped out trade guilds and don't really work as actively on gold making. I also am very lazy with daily quests.

Never below 1 mil and never more than 5 mil, I slowly work my way up to 5 mil and then buy a notable home. Currently working towards the last one. Then I'll have all the other ones to buy... it never ends !
