Caltrops replacement (stamTemplar) after the next patch - your ideas..

howdy folks, since Caltrops will not be as strong after the next patch i am looking for a viable replacement for my newly created stamTemplar (Wood Elf). what are you guys going to use? or what do you suggest i should use instead of Caltrops? or are we still going to use Caltrops regardless of the "nerf"?

I imagine the answer is yes. But we need to wait until more data is realized from players on the PTS (or maybe it has been and I've missed it).

Ritual of Retribution. It will scale off of stamina/weapon damage if it's higher and costs magicka so it's great on resources. Reasonable damage over a massive area. heals, synergizes, buffs healing, cleanses. What's not to love?

I've heard that the new soul trap will replace caltrops... unfortunately. I can't confirm as I haven't tested anything yet personally.

It seems to me that there is a loss of AoE DPS across the board this patch.

Ritual of retribution (aoe)
Soul trap (single target).

soul trap actually does more dmg on the pts then caltrops does on live, so youll be getting a small buff if u swap to soul trap at the expensive of aoe. It also costs magic so its great for sustain.

I don't use stamplar, but probably soul trap. For mobs I will just spam aoe spammable a few more times
