You could also see it like people are getting more and more feed up with lack of communication that was promised once a time, down time that suddenly happens out of the blue (which have happened now a couple of times) and generally bad performance, not really solve any problems like bugs and other things introducing a guild finder where one can not even compare guilds membership conditions and save/return to go back to guilds that one might want to join for later.
With Morrowind there where also large changes for how to play this game as managing resources where the main target at the same time as a new chapter where introduced and the first new class in a long time (Warden). No wonder that ESO community gets on the fence when there is unofficial patch notes or documents (claimed to be leaked) that are said to represent discussions about changes from and with Zeni.

I'm referring to all the players asking for increased difficulty but refuse to alter thier gear or CP to accommodate greater difficulty without drastic changes.

People asked for more complex overland and more challenge
No one asked to have damage and utility across gutted across the board

It doesn't all sound bad. Magicka DPS needs to be closer in line with Stamina, necromancer bugs, and magcro being *** dps were the only real complaints i've been seeing.0

Why does it always have to be a bat? Why can't it ever be a racket?
Because nerfing comes from the nerf company which makes foam objects that resemble weapons and items. The whole thing is that you are "nerfing" the weapons, covering them in foam so that when you are hit by them, while they seem real, they don't really hurt.
Nerf DOES make a tennis racket, but if someone hit you in the head with it, it would still hurt, effectively not being nerfed.
