Shouldn’t those who maxed alt skill lines receive crowns as reimbursement?

Assuming ESO is now going full P2W and will soon be offering maxing out skill lines for crowns should not those of us who maxed out alts before this supposed change receive crowns as a reimbursement?

After all this would be the fair way to treat us who have already maxed those lines out. /sarc off

P2W is when something is exclusively sold in an online store that gives a person an advantage that can’t be gotten ingame. This is not pay to win. It is pay for convenience. Many of us have already lvled multiple toons with multiple skill lines so we probably won’t lose it. Stop being a petty jekosiit.

How about free reign to pick from the crown store a few things,

    1) Your Race/Class Max level of 50 with maxed out C.P (not just to 810)
    2) A brand new house fully furnished
    3) Minimum of 3 new mounts maxed speed, carrying capacity, and stamina
    4) 3 fully completed gold sets of the latest expansions pve/pvp sets. (with weapons)
    5) Gold Cap
6)21,000 Crowns to spend for good measure.

I kid, I kid, carry on.

As someone who has many, many alts and has had to level up stuff the old-fashioned way on them, I say no to your question. I'm disappointed that they tied it to crowns instead of end-game gold, but I have no issue with the service existing. For the people who are willing to pay crowns for this (I'm not, so my alts will continue to get their skill lines through grinding), I say more power to em.

@ATomiX96 I agree it’s a slippery slope, but weapons and armor are definitely a no no, I wish I didn’t have to say that. I shouldn’t have to. But time will tell, but skill lines? No.

In all seriousness, that's all any one can do is wait and see. It is a slippery slope, people tend to see trends and as more things get put up on the Crown Store the p2w argument gets louder and louder.

People defend the Sale of items as it being only cosmetic (for now) and I think that's the point. You either wait and see, or voice your concerns now and hope it never comes to that point.

For a longer answer, no. Because you had the benefits of being able to use passive and active skills long before I will be able. And you don't have to pay anything to unlock the skill lines for your alternate characters as you already have them for months or years.

If you've spent crowns on maxing skill lines then they've gave them out for free then sure maybe, but you haven't have you.

You can get gold ingame, you can buy crowns/gift crown items for gold, therefor by that definition nothing can be p2w since everything can be technically gotten ingame...

Look if you don't think this is p2w then whatever, but there is an incredible amount of cognitive dissonance that needs to exist for you to suggest that that selling skill lines is somehow different from selling gear. Let's be consistent here. If selling skill lines that give some of the best passives and ultimates in the game isn't p2w, then neither is selling gear.

Soooo... you are saying because you have already got the skill lines for free... instead of needing to pay for them... Zos OWES you crowns??

Is this some kind of Millennial logic I have not yet heard of?

I don't know. Crafted gear and upgrades are just so readily available considering you can trade everything. I'd call it more "Pay to achieve". If everything you made was character bound, then maybe we can look at the p2w subject (even then it's a push).
Having said that, do I like the fact you can buy skill lines? Hell no. It's a step in the wrong direction for sure.

I'm a bit out of the loop here: is this selling skill lines in the sense they already do with the werewolf and vampire bites - where you pay to skip unlocking the skill line but still have to level it up? Or are they selling a fully levelled skill line so you can instantly start using the skills?

Similar to skyshards, max it out once and you can pay to have it maxed out on an alt.

I don't get what they are talking about. Doesn't make any sense. Skyshards give you skill Points (not skill lines), so when one character finds all the skyshards in a zone - if you want - you can buy the shyshard achievement for another character. Whether or not it is a good idea, That is simple, and that works.

Skill lines is completely different. Are they selling access to a psijiic, or thieves guild, or dark brotherhood skill line - like when Thieves Guild opens up the first time you find a Thieves Guild box? If so, you still don't advance in the skill line until you start doing Thieves guild missions. So I can't see any reason anyone would want to buy the skill line.

You can't buy access to a completed skill line because, unlike skyshards, Leveling is involved. A level 25 does not get access to level 50 skills.

So I don't even know why they created the initial question. Seems like just a knee-jerk reaction to Zos selling skyshards.

Scratch the fully furnished house. You can't interact with any of the furniture on 'fully furnished'. And you can't change it around either - at least from what I have seen from the previews. (Never bought one fully furnished just for this reason)

Also I prefer a Teal cap to a gold one.
