It is a great sustain imo. That's like 400 mag regen and 200 stam regen in one set. With both crits.

Its a nice sustain set of 400 primary/200 secondary regen, assuming you have a high enough crit chance to proc on cooldown.
Just remember before blowing your socks off that this comes at the price of not having things like pirate skeleton, valkyn skoria, bloodspawn...

no big of a deal for PVE IMO

Veli on stamina or Zaan on Magicka builds is still way sttronger than this, as long as you can sustain.
maybe neat for vMA, but else I see no use for it tbh.

Well, it is not scaled for +50% like usual regen, so it's more like 260 main resource and 130 off-resource, but still it is massive, I think this will be new BiS for magicka in real conditions.

    Not that big of deal.

It is merely 200/s and thats just in ideal condition you can proc crit damage every 5s which won't happen even in pve and in PVP even less so. I know magicka has no good sustain option in monster sets in PVE but then Zaan is also extremely strong. Stam has no such strong set but then you get Stormfist that is barely worse than Veli with 129 regen so over 100 stam/sec while doing damage.

This set will shine more on builds that focus on cost reduction instead of regen. Desert Rose is another set like this.

Oh wow, this is going to be great for PvE tank sustain. Just lay down a Wall of Elements and then enjoy the free stam regen while blocking.

Stonekeeper will still outperform this set in most fights. Just like this set it performs better in trash fights, but it also doesn't lose effectiveness when you are forced to stop using blockade to conserve resources (for example if you have to use your mag on chains).

And in those situations where there is nothing to block, while this one will be better than stonekeeper, 1p chokethorn + 1p shadowrend is probably still better since if you're not blocking, you don't need much stamina, and that 1p combo gives significantly more mag regen without being tied to any conditions.

But this set would definitely be interesting as a backup for DDs who have a setup optimized for organized trial groups but occasionally also run in PUGs or with lower tier guilds that don't have reliable ele drain uptime.

This set should do twice the Spell and Weapon crit for the one set bonus and keep the second set bonus the same.

This set looks appealing for my mag dk in pvp. I dont have a super high crit chance, but with all my dots it should have a pretty high uptime. Might be able to free up a 5pc. Will be interesting to see how it plays out.

My hybrid sorcs wants it. Now I can drop Slimecraw

by the way, the synergy with crit surge will be amazing. Heal, restore mag and stam, all in one crit

200/s proc =400 not scaling magicka recovery / 1.5 = 2x 129 magicka recovery + 1x 129 stamina recovery. 3 set pieces in 1 item. With 3-5 dots running+LA and 80% crit chance it will proc in PVE on cooldown.
Zaan is very situational and nobody forbids to carry several monster sets, like everyone is doing now btw. To adapt to this recovery you may just carry 2 mother sorrow staves or 2 vma inferno staves, with different enchants. Link it all in dressing room and voila - you are spec'd for everything without using okay but not so great sets like skoria, ilambris, 2 crit pieces etc

I didnt say its bad, its just okay. You can ignore (from pve point of view) 129 stam recovery and just 1.5 multiplier is lowbaling when people run from 65% to 85%. 80% crit on mag build is from fantasy land, try 50%. Procing anything off cooldown is nearly impossible because damage ticks dont happen every millisecond.
    All considered in real situation you are looking at 167 mag/sec = 334 recovery / 1.7 = 1.52x 129 magrecovery bonus.

So yes.... its fine, but very situational or for PVP builds build around it. Nowhere near game changing, important or great :D

Magicka and stamina regens every 2 seconds, you guys are undervaluing the set.

LoC EQ2 - Mayi and Iskiab
PRX and Tabula Rasa - Rift - Iskiab
Or anyone else I used to play games with in guilds I’ve forgotten

70-80% magicka crit is real world on magplar and on nerfed now magblade (with PFG+MS+1 crit from monster+minor prophecy from sorc). About how it procs I can easily say from iceheart which has only 20% chance to proc on crit, but which keeps almost permanent shield on you if you avoid breaking it.
In real content extra stamina recovery never hurts, you may sprint more, you may roll-dodge more. About uptime practice will show, but it will be no less then 80%, closer to 90%.
About recovery ok, 1.5 was lowballing and I agree on resulting 1.5x magrecovery from this head, but together with stamina bonus it's still better then skoria or 2 pieces of crit. So this set fills that empty niche where zaan/grothdar was impossible to use and skoria was less effective then 2nd piece of crit (border point is 35k dps where 2 pieces of crit will outperform skoria). Situational - yes, but all magicka sets are situational, for optimal result we need to carry zaan, grothdar, iceheart and skoria now. With this head we can replace skoria when we are on Mara and skoria's health bonus is virtually useless. This is great imo.
