You are getting exactly the same amount and type of loot as you get now.
The only thing you would save that way would be the amount of times you actually have to go and get a chest.
I think the current implementation is OK, they just need to overhaul the loot tables to have a chance to drop some rare items.
Would be great if they transferred them from the regular inventory to the quest inventory.
