I try to teach. But it depends on reciprocation. If its PUG in a vet dungeon I’ll usually get on mic and explain the mechanics if we wipe or struggling really bad. Most people are receptive. Normal dungeons are far too easy and tho it can merit some sort of discussion on mechanics, typically they are a breeze to go through.
I teach unless they're toxic, if they just can't get it though then I will get a different group member.
Account: @Delsana FREE CRAFTING (NA PC) SIDENOTE: Hel'phaer is a Grand Master Crafter with almost every motif (excluding Buoyant, Meridian, Coldsnap, Grim Harlequin, Tsaesci, Pellitine, and Elder Argonian because can't afford it) and will craft attractive quality and visually appealing training gear or combat sets for those interested. FREE gear for players below CP 160 (equivalent level of 210), and paid gear in some form from those CP 160 or higher.
I teach but then say "this is simply impossible with you guys" .. and then I get kicked =D.
Sometimes I try to pull a 3DPS party on some newer players by saying I am a tank..but they don't know how to do it and run around like a headless chicken...then they kick me....
Problem is, I was doing most of the DPS and keeping the party going... usually, when I know they need a tank I say "this is as far as I can take it."
I remember this healer stopped healing me in hircines layer....because he couldn't be bothered to keep himself alive or stay near us... So then I just duo'ed it with someone i trusted.. we put on our heals (friend put on resto staff back bar. I put on templar heals and vigor) and cheesed thru it.. he shut up and healed for the rest of the way...
Yes we could have kicked him but...some people need to open their eyes to the non traditional way of play...
I always teach. I wouldn't know squat if I wasn't taught half the mechanics when I first joined. I still remember the two people who helped me through vICP the first time. Took us four hours, but we finally got it done.
I've had a bunch of stubborn people who just wouldn't listen so very rarely I opt to drop group after I know it isn't going anywhere. I've voted to kick maybe only a handful of times.
I got kicked by three 810s, when I was a 580 cp, who were stuck on second boss of vMOS even before I had time to enter the first portal to travel to them. I told them before I was thrown out that I had the dungeon achievement on me.
Incidentally I got put in the exact same group again still stuck on that boss. This time they begged me to stay but I left. -_-
I will try to teach but i will probably talk trash the whole time. One time I had a cp20 who joined a vet dungeon. We completed it but I filled his ear with trash talk.

-If its just one player, its fairly easy to carry them give them a basic run through of the mechanics.
-If the group is just new to the dungeon, eg: had a group recently that had not done Scalecaller before, but were highish CP level, took them through the basics of each fights mechanics. Cleared the dungeon fairly easily since they were willing to listen to the advice.
-If you get an idiot that's like "DON"T TELL ME HOW TO PLAY MY GAME" they get kicked fairly quickly unless its those rare cases where that individual has the crown, in that situation the group either tough's if out or all leaves, sometimes I am nice and reform group with the other group members.
-If I get 2 low damage DPS in a DLC dungeon or a 2 version base dungeon(by low I mean struggles to kill the trash mobs on the way to the boss, in a short amount of time) In that situation, the healer usually beats me by leaving first, making me feel bad about leaving as well, sometimes I stick it out and do the dungeon with them provided they handled the mechanics properly during the boss fights, if they still struggle at that point I leave.
Other than that if I simply don't have the time to spend an hour or more in the dungeon or am having a bad day and the group's performance looks like its going to take that long I leave and try again the next day if its a pledge.
I get some are there to have fun and some consider it fun to wipe over and over and finally beat the dungeon, in vet I can understand that attitude but not in a normal dungeon.
It depends on the situation. Normal dungeons I will always attempt to teach. Vet dungeons, I will teach if you are able to pull over 10k dps and have at least cleared normal mode. Fake tanks always get a vote kick and if it doesn’t pass I leave. If you are obviously new and I attempt to teach you but you refuse to reply and just keep dieing I’ll vote kick. But if you put in the minimum effort and at least know how to eat crusty bread I’ll do my best to help. I don’t have high expectations for group finder but I do expect you to be a part of the group. When I first started I always looked up a guide for dungeons before trying them especially for vet mode. A little effort goes a long way.
Generally you can hardcarry people through most of the content and just leave them dead on the ground.
If I see its a new player thats genuinely interrested at getting good, Id teach them.
I teach as good as I can. I don't mind people who are unfamiliar with the mechanics or who are lacking dps, because the dungeons are mostly designed so that the group is still able to finish them somehow. Might take a minute or two, but hey, we've all been there before.
However, there are two situations where I /votekick, regardless wheter or not he/she is a noob.
1. faking a tank or a healer
I know people usually say it doesn't matter and you can still do it, but I just think it's unfair to bypas the waiting queue by flagging as tank.
2. maniacs
When a group member is just running through the mobs like Charles Manson, pulling everything and not giving a damn about thee rest of the group, it's an instant kick. Oddly enough, this kind of behaviour seems to be popular at around 250-350 CP. I've have never seen low CP people do this and only very few max CP folks.
And if the dam breaks open many years too soon
And if there is no room upon the hill
And if your head explodes with dark forebodings too
I'll see you on the dark side of the moon
This is a tough call, I’ve spent a lot of time helping “lesser” skilled players through dungeons, but sometimes it’s very clear that the player is out of their depths. I never judge any player by cp, as I’ve seen enough 810cp potatoes. From the moment the group appear in the dungeon a few things always jump out, weapon choices, titles, hP. These are “usually” bigger indicators than cp.
When you see an 810cp running through a vet dungeon as dps with 28k health and light attacking with a bow what am I supposed to do? Teach them the entire game because I wanted to do a random dungeon or pledge?
I try my best to teach mechanics to people, especially when someone mentions having never done <insert dungeon name here> before. Sometimes there's no wipes on any given boss, sometimes the group can't complete the content for whatever reason. There's been times where people have apologized for what they perceive as being bad after a few wipes and offer to drop group, but after convincing them to try a few more times we get through it.
I've only ever had to kick someone maybe two or three times, and generally those people where CLEARLY not listening or only wanted a carry. I remember doing SCP a while back, farming for Jorvuld's, stuff, with a few friends. Got a random DPS as the second one, and he'd hide during combat other than to spam light attacks and I think it was the occasional Dark Flare. When we got to the Gargoyle boss we kept wiping because instead of freeing anyone who got turned to stone, they were too busy hiding in a corner. They also weren't taking down the orbs as they spawned. Eventually we kicked the guy, got a new DPS, and it was fine from there. And it's not because *I* was doing bad damage; while it's not end raid numbers, I consistently hit 30-35k DPS, which is more than enough for any normal dungeon.
Another example, a friend of mine and me were trying to do vFH several months ago because she wanted the stuff that came with doing it. This was before Domihaus was nerfed, and we were both DPS. Two other people we were running with had to drop, so we ended up with a different tank and healer than the other guildies we started the run with. The healer was like 1.1k CP or something along those lines, but clearly had no idea what they were doing. Standing in the red, rezzing into AoE and dying instantly instead of waiting, barely healing, not buffing or debuffing, standing in place...we both tried explaining several times the mechanics and everything, but there was no way we could do it without a competent healer, so we eventually gave up after several very frustrating hours (we'd done vBRF that same night and it murdered us even before trying vFH). Thankfully when we tried again a few days later we got through it, though we still spent a while on Domihaus.
Point is, I've found it waaaaaay more often that just being patient and explaining mechanics will often be enough to get a group through most content, even some of the harder stuff. Will there be times when you get people who simply can't get through something, whether it's by choice or just lack of skill? Of course you will, there's thousands of people playing this game. But most of the time not wanting to rush through a dungeon in 15 minutes and remembering that even you were a clueless newb at some point goes a long way. Sure, no one is obligated or has to take a few minutes to teach mechanics, but if you honestly think you 'don't have time' to help fellow players, then maybe you should run premade groups with people who don't need to have things explained to them. If you honestly try and they either don't listen or can't get it, sure, do what you will, but don't just give up on others in five minutes and kick them or bail out of the group.
You see people here complaining all the time about fake tanks or low DPS, yet so many people are so quick to leave groups or boot people. How can you expect anyone to actually learn if no one's willing to teach?

It all depends. For vet dungeons, mostly DLC ones: When you see some people either having complete whack rotations (or spamming 100% Flurry, for example), I vote to kick or leave. On normal ones I couldn't care less, as I can solo most of them, even a few normal DLC ones. I can't sit there and give a crash course in game basics to people who have no idea whatsoever, frankly it's not my problem. They need to learn somewhere else, and do normal dungeons in the meantime.
But when you see people who pretty much know what they are doing, even if their DPS is pretty low etc., I give it a chance by telling them what needs to be done. If they don't listen, I tend to leave. Because I don't feel like voting to kick 2-3 people. It takes too much time, and makes me feel like a jerk.
Just as an example. I was tanking vet Bloodroot Forge a week or so ago, with some three guys who obviously knew each other. They were not the best, but I saw they were good enough to pull through it. SO... I explained the mechanics, and after a few "keep your breath, the tank is still alive - will he manage.... YES!" moments, we made it. And it felt great, they were so damn happy I nearly got a tear in my eye. They all added me as friend, and I have been sent furniture (during this "giveaway") now by all three of them. Did a similar thing at Scalecaller Peak on my stamblade, but those were pretty good players, just didn't know any of the mechanics. You should give people a chance, according to me.
Depends on the situation. If the dungeon is doable even when they dont know what to do, then I dont say anyhting and just finish it up. If they ask, I help. If the dungeon is difficult to do without them knowing what to do then I explain. If that fails and we cant do the dungeon even after trying to teach, then I leave. Trials, thats another story. If someone tries to go into trial without mentioning they never do it, expecting to get carried - kick. If someone comes with and says they never do it and need explanation then I gladly explain what needs to be done. If they in some way cant do the trial because they dont know how to play their class, thats also another story. Wont take someone to trial who cant be even bothered to get the right setup and expects to come to vet trial.
Magicka sorcerer from start until the end. Always. Through the good times and the bad, even now when its probably saddest PvE dps it has ever been.
Even as an owner of one radiant apex mounts I am against radiant apex mounts and anything thats not obtainable by direct purchase.
I teach until they quit listening. Then I leave if they don't try.
