I'm enjoying the game but have some questions. Hopefully a knowledgeable player will take the time to answer them.

First, Zone Progression. I'm mainly in the Daggerfall alliance. Some of my characters start it Daggerfall, others in other zones. Why is that?

Secondly, again Zone Progression. Am I supposed to stay in one area till I outgrow it? Or am I supposed to journey around? I know I can travel to different zones, but should I be? I was in Daggerfall till the quests got too hard, then I moved to Port Hurding and the quests are too easy. What am I doing wrong?

Lastly, on my stats page my armor is orange and says "overcharged" . I have no idea how I did this, what to do about it, or if it is even a real problem.

Thanks for any help.
The problem with arguing with a jackass is that they never stop braying.

The faction you pick determines where you start (after the tutorial/Coldharbor). You then have the option of either doing quests in the town you start in or talking to the npc just outside the room you start in who gives you a quest to one of the 'starter islands'. If you do the quests in town before going there you'll be a bit above level for them, and the reverse is true (if you do the starter islands when you come back the home town will be lower level). They did this late in beta to give people the choice due to feedback that it was too linear.

It's a mostly linear path leveling but you can (and should) explore within the zone you're leveling, as it's quite rewarding in this game. It's not as on rails as other games (where all you have is what your quests tell you to do).

Overcharged = diminishing returns. It's the point at which any further increases to that stat give less than you put in. It's there to encourage you to diversify your stats and to prevent twinking.

1.) Your first character starts in a cell in Coldharbour, all other characters get the choice to skip that part and start in your factions starting city.

2.) You are supposed to stay in a zone until it is completed. Port Hunding feels to easy after Daggerfall because Port Hunding comes before Daggerfall.
In the beta you spawned there after the tutorial. Why they changed it for the release version to make you spawn in Daggerfall is anyones guess. (My personal guess is they did it to confuse people, nothing else makes any sense to me)

3.) Overcharged means that you are concentrating too much on one stat. Further gains on this stat are reduced somewhat. The overcharge limits are growing depending on your level, so even if your armor is overcharged now it might not be once you've leveled up once or twice.
Since you have armor overcharged I guess you use heavy armor in combination with a shield?
Try to exchange one piece of armor for something lighter. You should not lose that much armor, and the passives of the other armor class might be useful.
