Would you support a developer stamp for the forums?

A big issue with the current communication between players and the development team is lack of acknowledgement on the forums. Many important topics go without feedback from the development team leading many players to believe they do not value our perspective, whether it be a justifiable perspective is another topic.

I propose a stamp that can be tagged by developers on posts which they feel are important. If anything this well let us know "hey guys/gals we just wanna let you know we acknowledge this post and the content it contains"

We could have it be a "Z" or something similar. I will admit that this could have the opposite effect then desired in some cases. For example if an issue gets a stamp and is still left with no resolve after years then people may feel like the stamp system is just damage control to keep us at peace for the time being. But I would rather see some form of communication then none at all.

Please feel free to engage in discussing this idea with me below.

    It's an interesting idea.

Can't really give an opinion myself, but I do see where you are coming from.

I just see so many topics about how ZoS doesn't care, or doesn't listen. And figured if I wanted things to change then I need to think of an alternative solution. And a stamp seemed like a simple idea that could still effectively convey that they see our worries and woes.

Great idea.... but it I don’t think it could work because the way many forum goers are choosing to communicate....

And also maybe ZOS are declining to comment in most threads for other reasons too such as they are managing expectations going forward....

No need for a stamp. They see and read EVERY single word written in these forums, so if they don't respond it's obvious it's intended and because they have their reasons, even if we don't know nor understand why.

I think there's too much risk of it creating expectations which are never going to be met.

Some people will interpret a stamp on a topic as a declaration that ZOS are going to do exactly what that topic is asking for, when it could simply be that one person at ZOS likes the idea, stamps it, then gets shot down when the propose it in a meeting. Or by the time it's actually in-game the idea has changed fundamentally from what was proposed on the forum.

Even if it's just a matter of it taking a long time to be implemented that's going to anger or disappoint some people.

And if people are more reasonable then it becomes too ambiguous:
    • Who is the person who stamped it, do they actually have any say in getting it made? e.g. maybe a programmer stamps a topic asking for bird pets - they want to see it happen and they know it's technically possible - but it's not their job to decide what type of pets are created and maybe the person who decides that is against it for some reason...I don't know, maybe they've seen the complaints about sorcerer pets and can't change that but don't want to add more flying things.
    • Does the person who stamped it agree with the OP or all the people disagreeing with them and saying their idea should never, ever happen because it would be terrible for the game?
    • Do they agree with the OP or some variant of the idea posted 3 pages in which people who were still reading at that point agreed is better?
    • Do they agree with the idea but have changes of their own in mind, and are they going to post about those or just go ahead and reinterpret the suggestion and assume everyone will still be happy with it?
    And so on....

Stamps or more communication would be great, but if they are not going to actually follow through on fixing any of the problems then why bother. I guess just keep ignoring us at least then we know where we stand.
