Dungeon Queue Solution

Hello PC EU/NA community.

As you have noticed, the queue system doesn't work really well, it's a nightmare to be honest but only in prime-time so we can conclude the number of players can't sadly be handle by the system.
This incapacity is conveyed by this horrible sentence "Unable to Queue At This Time"

However, I may have a solution for the dungeon queue. At the present time, the players use the dungeon finder because it's faster but also because the first random dungeon done give an important amount of XP point. The solution is simple, just add a new NPC able to offer players a random dungeon quest, of course the quest could be shared to play with a group. The quest will just consist of killing the final boss of the dungeon and after that, the players will be able to recuperate their reward (like classic quests). This system is not very different from the pledge one the difference is just the random aspect. The purpose is not to remove the dungeon queue but just to give another way to do our random dungeons.

The main advantage of this solution is to unblock the queue especially in prime-time . Indeed, to have two ways of doing random dungeons should decrease the number of players in the queue and speed up the request. The players are used to finding mates in the big city (LFG ......) so it should not be a problem for those who want to do it this way.
I don't know about Battleground because they have not a location compared to the dungeons.

What do you think about this solution and how can it be improved?

If you can kill any final boss, people will just farm FG1.
Same goes if the final boss is different every time you abandon the quest

If you can share it like Vvanderfel WB, people would stack those rewards each days

If it is fixed like pledges, then people who tag for a specific dungeon will have issues to find a group.

If it is fixed and unsharable, a group a 4 player might need to do 4 dungeons instead of 1

The best and easiest solution to this issue. Is throw away the current ever broken Dungeon Finder. And implement a GW2-like LFG page to the game. And allow players to form there own groups on this page.

    IE.

Group Looking for CP 810 DPS for vet CoS Speed Run, No Death, and Hard Mode clear EXP only!

Group Looking DPS for casual vet CoS all is welcome.

    You all get my point.

I see your point, and I can correct the solution like that.
I have absolutely no idea if something like that can be implemented but look.

The NPC can give quests only if a player is in a group with three other guys (condition system). The leader of the group can select the quest. If you break the group before the end of the quest, you lose it. You will be able to achieve the quest is someone leaves it's already the case at the moment. You can't share the quest with other groups(like the story quest).

When the group is created, the NPC give a random dungeon quest. The first try gives a purple reward, and the others a blue reward (nothing changes). The leader finishes the quest and all group members take the reward. Of course the NPC is the same for normal and veteran dungeons. Of course the system won't be based on CP (sorry @FearlessOne_2014 ) but nothing prevents "elitist" players to find their happiness. In general they know each other.

About the specific dungeons, like I said before, the queue system won't be removed but I would add other NPC in front of each dungeon able to give those specific quests. Those specific quests with options like speed run or no death purpose why not. The reward could be important depending on their difficulty.

You misunderstand the point of the random dungeon queue: The point is to use people in the random queue to fill groups that are queueing for a specific dungeon. That's why you are getting the XP reward. You are a sword for hire.

Now, this can be circumvented by forming a full group and you end up where you end up, but the whole point of the group finder, and particularly the random dungeon queue, is to help players queueing for specific dungeons get a group.

That would be nice, but it would also completely eliminate the random dungeon queue. Which is fine with me if they implement something like that.

    .
I understand what you said, but if the point of the random dungeon queue is the mercenarism aspect (you are sword for hire) there is no problem. Just imagine, the NPC is looking for brave warriors to stop a threat in [Insert dungeon name]. You have to clear it and bring the final boss head or another proof of his death. All this mechanics is random.
The queue system should also be reworked to give this kind of quest as soon as we enter the dungeon.

As I said before, the purpose is not to remove the group finder but to unblock the queue especially in prime-time. The real purpose is to allow to players a different way for those activities while respecting as much as possible the constraints of the dungeon finder.

The questions I ask to myself are :
Why a premade group should use the queue for a random/specific dungeon and take the risk to weigh down the queue?
If NPC can give them the opportunity to by pass this tool, it would be beneficial for everyone.
Will this system be a dungeon finder killer?
I think they will be complementary, if you can't form your own group, the group finder is here for us. Think about the pledges, we are able to find a group by our own way or with the group finder.

I don't know if I'm clear but I don't see where is the problem with this new way.

So basically just get in a group of 4, go to a new NPC(which they can just place at the undaunted enclaves) quest giver that gives your group a random dungeon, then you go there through the entrance no queue at all, provides exact same rewards and XP.

All they would need to do is make sure all dungeon locations are automatically unlocked for fast travel, so people who have not explored the whole map on each alt don't clutter up the group finder.

Not opposed to the idea but its likely zone chat will be flooded with LFG messages, which is the point of having the group finder, so we keep that to a minimum and are actually able to use the zone chat.

ESO had an tool a bit like that back around the time we got pledges.
Don't know if it was broken or nobody used it, all used guild or zone
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

That's the idea, about the potential flood of the zone chat, you may be right and I thought about two solutions :
    -Add a new chat zone
-Create a special interface per group with a link. When a leader writes for example LF 1 DD for Normal random, a link is created and everyone can just click on it and join the group or just observe the composition. It would prevent (I hope) the flood.

If you have other propositions, I'm listening.
