Merchant/ Commoner Motif

This has probably been suggested before but now that we have the outfit system I’d like to see a merchant/commoners motif.

Chefs hat, cooking aprons, blacksmith apron, flower picking gloves, heavy forge gloves or even just “dirty hands” as gloves. In the belts we can have pockets, bandoliers, utility belts. All the simple shoes, shirts and dresses that are in the game as “clothing”. Backpacks, satchels, apothecary’s pouches. Coiled rope and whip for stablemaster look. Shoulders can be a rolled up sleeping bag you see sometimes.

Weapons are rakes, brooms, skillets, pitchforks, hammers, knives, shepard’s rod/crook, sword sharpener (you see npcs sharpening with a pointy metal thing called a sharpening steel). Shields are cracked grindstones, wagon wheels, ships wheel, dinner platters, crate lids.

You have most of the assets already.

Thank you for your time, please post your support and suggestions here :)

    I'll bite.

If anything, I'd like to see these options added as "achievement outfits" in the same vein that the Skyforge hammer was included as part of the Grandmaster Crafter achievement. Examples and associated achievements below.

Riding crop (one-handed weapons) - Fully train a mount 60/60/60 on any character.
Gardening gloves - Botanist achievement (Alchemy)
Resplendent splitting maul (two-handed weapons)- Master Heartwood Harvester achievement (Woodworking)
Worn skinning knife (one-handed weapons) - Master Clean Pelt Harvester achievement (Clothing)
Chef's Hat (headgear) - Master Chef achievement
Stained Chef's Apron (body armor) - Recipe Compendium achievement (100 recipes learned)
Beekeeper's Mesh Helmet (that thing beekeepers wear so they don't get stung) (headgear) - Master Wax Harvester achievement (Provisioning)
Gaudy Gold Chain (body armor) - Legendary Jewelry Crafter achievement (Think Mr. T here, replaces body armor on outfit with a bare chest and large gold chain/pendant.
Battered Pickaxe (two-handed weapons) - Master Regulus Harvester achievement
Sooty Blacksmith Apron (body armor) - Master Blacksmithing Furnisher achievement
Tamrielic Hooded Wizard's Robe (body armor) - Reach level 10 in the Mage's Guild

I'm sure other's could think of a bunch more, but that's just a few I came up with in the last few minutes.

@max_only I like where you're going with this.

    Thank you!

I love the Gaudy Gold Chain outfit motif idea.

Now are these rewards of the motif pages to craft armor that looks like a (for example) chefs hat, or just outfit style pages?

    Either way it’s awesome.

I’m too lazy to be an achievement hunter but I do already have some of these.

We have full costumes in the Crown Store, so this would just be a component version of that - single-slot costume. Makes complete sense to me, and some of the "cosmetic staves" would be equally sensible. If the damage comes from magical effects, then the implement delivering it is less important.

I have characters that would like the pitchfork and the riding crop.

These would just be outfit styles that you'd unlock. Creating them as motifs would require style mats that probably don't already exist in the game. By making them outfit styles, it's just a bit of code and, "Presto!"

Also, if they were motifs you could theoretically craft them for someone else who may not have the necessary achievements to be worthy of wearing them. These should be solely for the accounts that earned them (although typically outfit styles are unlocked account wide, so some character's might be able to wear ones they shouldn't have access to).

    Edit for missing thought.

Thought I'd just throw in fishing waders. Especially useful in Murkmire, even over armour.

I really like the idea of mixing and matching clothing and armour, but that requires clothing to be available as single-slot items. There are a few items that can be looted, but you can't make them at a clothier station, or buy them from a merchant, which you'd expect to be possible. If clothing was treated as an armour level below light, giving zero defence, but able to hold an enchantment and/or a trait, you'd get extra use of items that are in the game anyway.

Fishing waders would be cool, just seen those pop up in an Oblivion Twitch stream a couple of days ago.
