Melee Stamblade vs Magblade

Can you share your opinions about melee stamblade and magblade for both PVE and PVP perspective after recent changes? While Phantasmal Escape has snare immunity, Lotus Fan has dot and Merciless Resolve has 50% heal at melee range, magblade has started to look interesting.

Edit: They also have Bloody Mara now

    What's a "melee magblade"?

Right now, Nightblades are not the "meta" class. While the recent changes have helped out with damage mitigation and some extra heals, it came at the cost of some of their damage output which is why you'll see top raiding groups not really have a nightblade (or maybe just 1) in their group. Now, this doesn't mean your average trial groups can't clear content with them, but I'm just stating that they don't put up the DPS numbers that they once did (for better or worse). I can't really attest to Nightblades in PvP, though, so I'll leave that for someone else. In general, my PvE Nightblades (both Mag and Stam) are gather cobwebs right now.

Melee magblade has much higher dps then ranged, obviously. But obviously nobody will allow magblade in melee slot.. I'll say magblade is great in solo PVE content, but in group content in magdps ranged slots it's bad...
Let's call things how they are - magblade is useless for vet trials if you have other toon, you have one of the hardest rotations possible and yet potentially lowest dps and almost zero group utility (major expedition from path, and that's all). Now take templar for comparison which have great dps, provides amazing synergy and resurrect speed and rotation consists of 5 damaging abilities in comparison to magblades 7 abilities.

With the terrible range on Concealed and Soul Harvest I get “Target out of Range” error over 150 times a day.

Any fluctuations in range during the animations of these will result is a misfire. Considering it still takes a GCD it is painstaking.

So many times Soul Harvest should go off but fails then the damage window is gone.

The one reason nightblades aren't seen in top groups is that stamcros are there. Nothing else beats the Major vulnerability stacking. 1 stamblade (or NB tank) is still required is for the critical buff.

Less experienced players tend to perform worse on nightblades (both specs) because of their reliance on weaving and will perform the same or better on other classes.

Stamblades have lost no damage from the loss of Major fracture since it's already provided, while the minor berzerk is provided by healers. The main difference is that healers have to provide throughout the whole fight, instead of solely for execute.

If not for stamcros, we'd be stacking stamblades. Which is what we did before Elsweyr.

For pve, stamblade is in the toilet, magblade is in the sewar.

    Do yourself a favor.
If you want to stam dps, pick stam necro if you can handle their difficult rotation or stam DK for an easier rotation
If you want to mag dps, pick mag templar

For pvp, stamblade is ok but not great any more. They are outclassed by stam dk, stam necro and maybe stam warden.

No idea on magblade for pve, I stopped playing mine in group setting because they are frustrating to dps on and seemed more of a healer or buff giver. Not sure how bomb blades fare after the nerf but I'm seeing less of them so I am guessing they aren't so good any more.
