I chose other. There are people online who are clearly suffering from what looks like to me to be a process addiction, who freak out horribly over a game. It's a game.
Some people also treat the game like a religion and are super serious about the only right way to play the game. Someone might try to codify these commandments of ESO gameplay. No dont do that. please.
ZOS should have a system in place to help these folks who are clearly in need of it. Maybe hire some online counselors to contact said persons discretely with referral source for help with these aggression issues. Or maybe just mail them anonymously some resource lists to them locally.
You know. I grew up in a home where the adults would get together and Play Canasta. But really, when we were kids, we called it Canasty. Games bring out the worst in people. I think that's why i always like the kind of games that were privately played against no one but myself. The first computer i bought was when i was a soldier in Germany. I had a tandy 1000 with an 8088 processor and cga graphics and i loved to spend time on that playing pools of radiance and curse of the azure bonds and the like. That was interesting. MMORPG's remind me of all the canasty we kids would see from our parents and aunts and uncles. Group games are awful for so many people.
1. Gamebreaking bugs in trials
2. Inability to have all lorebooks except unreleased motifs read because the only way to read the Sealed Imperial Summons is to do the Elsweyr Prologue Quest, which I did when it was first released (and the book wasn't in Eidetic Memory) and can no longer read it as a result.
AD is the best looking faction. I don't make the rules, I just enforce them.
I have daily issues logging in now, been going on for probably the better part of the last year. Its constantly freezing on the loadscreen as I load in my first character. Forcing me to close out the game and restart it. This happens at least once every day and almost always on the first load-in.
Theres also issues with lag and overall delay of abilities Im experiencing consistently regardless of where I am in the game. Id blame it on my internet connection but Im not experiencing similar or comparable issues in anything else Im doing online.
Overall the game feels as if its not performing as reliably as it had maybe a year or 2 ago. I remember a drop in performance during Morrowind but it didnt seem as severe but Summerset was definitely big enough to notice. And the game doesnt feel like its bounced back since then. Its just been on a steady decline.
I/WE want to know what is happening and if they are even trying to fix the massive problems they have right now.
It really feels like they are just trying to hide the problems and lure us away with the new DLC, chapters and all other kinds of sh*t.
I don't have any gripes as such. I would like a better trading system, and I wish ZOS would deliver on their promise to improve communications, but I'd describe those things as desires rather than gripes. For me as a non-competitive player it's an amazing game, easily the best I've played in the 36 years I've been gaming on computers, 22 of them online, and it runs pretty flawlessly for me.
I do not have any FPS problems ( stays around 50 to 65 most of the time ). I only get a long load screen when there is a patch. I get disconnected from the host maybe once every 2 months ( I am lucky, I guess ).
The only complaint I have is communication with us thru the forums. Also I think a good place to inform us about things would also be thru ESO Live.

Performance issues, by far - the insanely long loading screens, the FPS drops and lag spikes, server issues, ability lag, stuttering and group finder issues.
Also worth mentioning is the over-reliance on addons to make the game playable and get around the obvious shortcomings of the game's UI and trading system. These addons have their own performance issues and of course frequently break every time there's a patch.
With performance this poor and the game feeling like it's constantly on its knees, It's no way to run a game.
I don't know what they did in the middle of December 2018 but the lag and FPS issues have gotten exponentially worse since then. I used to have 50-60fps and 80-100 Latency with a rare spike over 133 Latency and that only happened during intense trials.
Now, my Frames Per Second are around 35-60 and often reduce down to 12-22 when I am around a lot of other players. Interesting enough, it is worse around some player more than others.
My Latency now is ALWAYS above 150 and often reaches 180. This might not be as bad as say Australian users have to deal with all the time, but for someone who is disabled trying to challenge themselves in Trials without being a huge hinderance to any one else, it makes a hell of a difference.
When both issues happen together, you then end up with stuttering screens, game freezes as servers try to catch up.
Second place comes the Lack of Communication. ZOS can't answer everything. That's a given. And some issues are just plain minor and not worth a response. HOWEVER, with prolonged issues such as we are seeing with performance issues, there needs to be someone stepping up an communicating to us at least on a monthly basis so we, as the consumer, know what is going on. What the roadblocks are, what was discovered, etc. Throwing shiny new things at consumers will only distract them for so long, and players are falling for that tactic less and less.
Game Balance is the Third place issue. Balancing skills around math, without thought for how players will actually use the skills creates a lot of issues. This is why a better understanding of how different level of players are using these skills and what difficulties they are finding when using them should be considered. Example: Rotations and players with disabilities or slower reflexes. The way rotations are set up, especially with the light attack weaving/animation cancelling, they have to be performed flawlessly and very quickly, swapping bars back and forth. But for many who are disabled or don't have fast reflexes, nor the use of a Macro Program to assist them; most are unable to nail down a fast rotation that allows them to get over 30K DPS. Then when making balance decisions, you actual end up raising the DPS of higher end players, while lowering it for everyone less skilled. You need to find a way around this.
As a long-term player myself, and to new players alike, I would say these are the top 5 major issues with ESO that for some reason never get fixed or are seemingly low-priority when it should be on the critical list. These, to me, are the reasons long-term and new players wont stick around if they aren't fixed, sooner than later hopefully but I feel this is wishful thinking at this point. I really hope something within the company is restructured because the current order of operations internally is not working anymore. ESO seems to have grown to big for ZoS to manage with the current way (out of control) or employees may be on other projects, putting ESO on the second priority list. It's all speculation of course, but this is how it feels to players which creates a toxic environment which is very unhealthy for any game's ecosystem and longevity.
MAJOR ISSUES:
#1 Loading Screens - Self-explanatory to 100% of the players in ESO. Loading screens have only gotten worse and worse, it makes no sense why this is happening. Not even 6 months ago, you could visit a wayshrine and travel within the same zone and it was almost instant; now, it sometimes takes 10-60 seconds. This is also happening in dungeon and trial groups now when entering other areas within. Not a good thing when the rest of your group has to wait for one or more players to load in, or already wiped due to this. It's horrendous. Zone to another zone has taken almost 2 minutes at one point. Sure, these aren't technically "that long", but when you are in-game trying to do something it feels like an eternity and a waste of time.
#2 Lag - This is another self-explanatory problem to 100% of the players in ESO. Random glitching, movement, using skills, bar swaps. It's great right in the middle of fights, causes group to wipe (happened personally to me on Scalecaller peak last boss VET HM, we were down to 3% - just the other day). Sure, it's a complicated matter with networking, but the majority of players have decent internet connections and gaming hardware nowadays. The blatant and obvious issue is server capacity/performance.
#3 Group Finder - How can a MAJOR feature of an MMO be so neglected and non-functional. It has only gotten worse over time, devs have seen and commented first-hand about the problems with it. Yesterday, I sat in que as a healer for 40+ minutes yesterday, joined up with 2 other DPS and it still took over 10 minutes. This was during prime-time on a weekend! That was a first for me. Since I can remember (3+ years), it's either completely broken or not functioning properly. More recently, I was even booted to the screen for repeatedly clicking the join button because it kept saying "cannot que at this time" (which ZoS said, we should do until they can get a FIX for the LFG tool). D*mned if you do, d*mned if you don't.
#4 Gameplay - Something just feels "off" since the latest update, especially when in combat trying to do rotations and bar swap. It has seemed slightly better over the last week however, so who knows, maybe just server performance/capacity issues.
#5 Bugs - I'm not even going to list anything specific here, especially when some are 5+ years old and still in the game since release. The list is simply too long. The good news however, is none seem to be entirely game-breaking which is good. The downside here is it takes a lot away from the game's immersion and overall playability, which in itself is a big deal to players.
It just feels like there should be better systems in place to track and fix problems within ESO. The game is obviously growing and hopefully the employees are too, their support is greatly needed to get this game back on track before it spirals out of control to a point where it's too much of an undertaking and after every update it just becomes worse, not better.

We need a select all option lol. Elsweyr is a cool zone with cool dragons and a cool trial. It brought us a new class that's broken in many ways but works most of the time. But they dropped the ball as far as content. I ran out of things to do in Elsweyr very quickly and went back to PVP. And what a *** show PVP is at the moment. Rollbacks, Disconnects, Perma load screens, Desyncs, Trapped in delves, Cheaters still exploiting scrolls, aids bash builds etc etc etc. Played Elsweyr for maybe 2 weeks before switching to another game that's actually playable.

Canasta... ? We're talking the card game Canasta here, right ?
I used to play Canasta a lot myself... but it never made anyone nasty !! At least not in my home(s) ! :-)
I can get that the combat aspect of most video games, or the competitive aspect of video games, can make people aggressive, and even more so if they're both combat and competition driven... but... Canasta... ?

Balance between Magicka and Stamina has kept me away from the game since buying the new Chapter. I honestly feel completely shunned as a Magicka Mage at heart in ESO. I guess that's why I now spend hours these days Maining a Witch in a P2W Korean Grindfest called BDO and spending $200 to $400 a month instead on ESO anymore.
Performance issues are a close 2nd. But the balance and the widen gap between Magicka and Stamina pushing me completely away from this game, I once loved as a Mage at Heart.
I guess I was ZOS trash and Pearl Abyss Treasure. Mage at Heart players on myself are treated well over there. So there I will stay until the balance between Magicka and Stamina is reached. Till then, bye bye!

Just let me clarify: I didn’t add an “All of the above“ option because it doesn’t show what the main issue is. That’s why I tried to separate it as good as possible. I regret a bit that I forgot to add a Crown Store / Loot Crates option though.
“None / no gripes at all“ was no option for me either because this topic is about gripes and not about not having any. So if you don’t have any, just vote “Other“ or don’t vote at all. Not adding that option had nothing to do with bias (although I consider performance issues as universal, especially when actively playing Elsweyr or any kind of PvP - nobody can tell me they experience none of the mentioned performance issues at all; ten minutes ago my game crashed and shut down although I was just stealthing in the corner and did absolutely nothing).
But that’s not the reason for this thread, I just wanted to have a clear and simple picture which pain points are the most prevalent at the moment.
Logged in until I got the free crate, and not again since. I am personally tired of running the same dungeon dozens of times to see the item I want drop for every random 'noob' (the Undaunted style page) while I get nothing. Can't even be bothered logging in 5 minutes for some crafts/free gold.
Also the knowledge that there's more and more and more content/achievements that will forever be beyond my reach makes the ones that are, feel pointless.
I seldom see any of the performance issues some complain about. I tend to run 40 to 60 ms ping in world, and usually 90 or 100 fps, dipping to 60 to 70 in heavy trials or big pvp fights. I never see the disconnect issues so many complain about. This tells me its either a hardware issue with a lot of people, or a conflict with other software on their system, or a simple case of some ISP's not liking ZOS servers (AT&T DSL seems infamous for this). I dont think ZOS can do a lot about performance without changing the game in ways people without performance issues wont like (no horrid graphics from that snowstorm company's game please).
Communication, IMO, is the biggest problem with ESO. ZOS doesnt seem to listen or care in the view of many, and thats because of VERY poor communication. It wouldnt take much to improve on this.
The opinions of others should always be heard, especially if they dont agree with your own! But you always reserve the right to laugh at them.

"I am a nightblade. Blending the disciplines of the stealthy agent and subtle wizard, I move unseen and undetected, foil locks and traps, and teleport to safety when threatened, or strike like a viper from ambush. The College of Illusion hides me and fuddles or pacifies my opponents. The College of Mysticism detects my object, reflects and dispels enemy spells, and makes good my escape. The key to a nightblade's success is avoidance, by spell or by stealth; with these skills, all things are possible."
Of the options on the poll I'd go with lack of build diversity, specifically among stamina DPS builds.
I think that Frost Staff tanking should have been improved/made viable and should have been just the first of many changes that lead to more competitive builds that were wildly different from eachother.
I'm fine with 1 build being meta no matter what, but the gap between best and second/third best needs to be closer. There shouldn't be any/many mandatory abilities in a game with this many different abilities. Same goes or gear sets that have more of an impact than anything else you do.
Something being unbalanced in 1v1 does not imply that it is balanced in group play.
