THE HOUSING PERMISSIONS GLITCH IS BACK!!!! PLEASE HELP US!! OUR HOUSES ARE BEING VANDALIZED AGAIN!!!

The housing permissions glitch is back, and this time it is worse than before.

For those of you that dont know, previously there was a glitch that reverted a person's default housing permissions (without their knowledge or intention) to DECORATOR status, allowing any player in the game to move all their furnishings in their home. The trolls have taken advantage of this and are vandalizing innocent players homes by moving all the furniture up in the air or into the ground. They fixed the glitch last patch, but with the most recent patch on the xbox/na, there is an even worse glitch.

We have a video clip confirming the glitch, see below. Here is an overview of what you will see in the video:

1.) Player opens up their permissions and sets the default permissions to LIMITED VISITOR.
2.) Player runs around their house, and a random pop up occurs with the LIMITED VISITOR setting (this is not normal)
3.) Player checks the permissions, they've been reset to NO ACCESS.
4.) Player switches the permissions to LIMITED VISITOR. They run around, and another pop up menu is shown with VISITOR info. (This is not a normal pop up menu that we normally see)
5.) Player opens their settings and they see that the default permissions have switched to NO ACCESS

@ZOS_GinaBruno can you help us?

We've had multiple houses in our guild that have been completely wrecked. There is nothing they can do because whether they are in their house or not, the permissions keep switching on them.

This is so devastating for all of us. :(

Please help us!!!

Wow, this is horrible! We all put so much time and gold (not to mention real life money) into our house designs. I know last time we had numerous members saying they would leave the game if houses they spent months designing were destroyed. This really affects our guilds as we spend hours touring homes from our rosters. We also host monthly housing contest, in which the guildies must have their contest home set as primary. So now what do we do? Please ZOS help us!

Not really. Most houses and furnishings are available in-game.

not only that, but there is a great deal of furnishings (achievement and lux vendors) that are ONLY available in game, and not on crown store.

I do hope they fix that bug quickly, because it can take a LOT of time to decorate things just right, and losing all that time because of a bug abusing jerk is NOT fun.

The jokes on them; most of my houses are already stacked floor to ceiling with junk. The only way to properly vandalize a trash heap is by cleaning it up.

Well, considering the sheer amount of time and gold it takes to decorate a house well, it should be anyway.

I've seen this happen several times. Often resulting in statues being placed in inappropriate positions, things floating in air, lights messed with, inappropriate messages spelled out with furniture, etc. This list goes on and on.... Waaaaaaaay too many people put real time and money into the housing component of the game.

I just finished building a cave in Coldharbour out of Molag Bol's giant skull. This glitch is ruinous because it prevents you from protecting the work you've put in. Humans are the problem here, but housing permissions are supposed to protect you from these griefers. I've set my primary to an empty inn room until this is fixed.
XBOX NA: I'm actually a pretty nice Nord but "NiceNord" doesn't strike fear in the hearts of Tamriel's foes : )

We are working with everyone in the housing guilds asking them to check their permissions. Many people are finding that the permissions are not set as they left them.

We are telling everyone to switch their primary to an empty apartment ASAP. It is the only way to protect your home until its fixed.

Thank you all for your support <3

So much time goes into decorating. It is a huge labor of love. So much money and time is spent. If this happened I'd leave the game. It's sad that now we have to worry about showing off all the work we do.

Zos, please the housing community is huge, we spend real money for furnishings. Don't brush this off.

This is tied only to gamepad mode (and consoles probably?). It's been happening to me since I can remember. For me it's usually something in a group menu that pops up all of the sudden. The exact menu depends on where in the menu I was the last time. When it starts happening, it will occur every once in a while until I relog or reloadui. I didn't really dig deeper into that. Just assumed one of the plugins is doing that.

It just looks that when some conditions are met, your gamepad actually move around the last accessed menu even if the menu is closed.

Not sure if I am the silly one here but... how is a house resetting itself to "no access" allowing visitors to wreck the furniture ? If it's "no access", noone's visiting and noone's wrecking anything ... ?

It's a long story, but some people are getting "decorator" access out of it, and wreaking havoc on other peoples efforts. It also devastates the guild (A proud member of Lazertooth's guild BTW) because we all know a treasured work of art is gone. It's amazing what the players on the Xbox NA server / Lasertooth's guild have accomplished - and tragic that someone ruined a part of that forever.

I've spent a lot of time on my house and funnily enough, the other day I was making pots and someone (not in any of my guilds or friends list) entered my house, seen me, then instantly left - Level 36 odd with a random name.

I checked the permissions for visitors and it was open to all so I quickly changed that as I thought it was weird, I didn't think this could come of it. Hopefully that's mine safe for now.

True it’s related in some way to crown store, however it’s also to do with the housing community, a community they frequently ignore. So they have to flip a coin to see whether to listen and fix or ignore and fix it a few months down the line 😬
