Playing ESO is making youtube stop playing videos

Hi guys. I might not put this in the right thread, but I hope to get some help with this anyway.

I have a problem with the fact that when I play ESO I like to have youtube on in the background, and youtube straight up stop playing every time I get a loading screen in ESO or sometimes just randomly when I play normaly and don't encounter loading screens also.
I have messed with the setting, going all low on graphic and such in ESO, put youtube on minimum quality. And it still happens.
If you tell me it's my internet, I don't think that should be possible since I have 250/250 fiber. And this only happen when I play ESO, never when I play other games.

Does anyone else experience this? and have a solution for this? I honestly don't know what to do.

Do you have ESO set to NOT playing sound in the background ?

You could try running ESO in "windowed fullscreen" if you aren't already. Might have something to do with it, might not.

I have the ESO background sound option off, and I already play it in window fullscreen, but gonna try and change it to see if that helps

tried both, and neither option worked :(

Maybe try (no guarantee, just trying to think/help here) try to put your youtube tab in a separate window in your browser.
I know Youtube is kindof programmed to stop when in the background (background play being a premium feature for paying customers). Putting it in a separate window helps tricking it into thinking it's still in the foreground. I don't know for Youtube, but I use that trick with other sites that otherwise stop when they're not in the foreground.

You could try right-clicking your Youtube icon and check 'run as administrator'. ESO seems to take priority over other programs on my machine, but running as adminstrator often works.

    YouTube icon ???
YouTube on PC is not an app, it's a website...
Not sure you can run a web shortcut "as administrator"...

Try another browser. It can be something browser related. I for one, play with Youtube running background all the time.

Depends how the OP is using Youtube. I was just thinking it could be a privilege issue, in which case either running the app or the browser as administrator might solve the problem.

I was gonna say ESO is sucking up all your memory causing your web browser to run out of resources.

*sigh* I have two screens. I can and do, play the game on one screen - with youtube streaming on the other one (if I choose to suck bw for something so stupid as youtube).

I have no issue running my browser (with Youtbube, Facebook, Twitter, gaming forums and websites, etc running), Discord, and even other low intensity games (Like Runescape 3) running on my second screen, while playing ESO on Ultra+ extras at 1920x1080 on my main screen.

I would suggest opening the task manager and watching your CPU/Disk usage during load screens. You might find your issue is there.

    I stand corrected then :-)

Didn't know there were apps and widgets for YouTube on PC. Should've known better ! :-)

My best solution for this - Microsoft Edge (i.e. good ol Explorer). Edge is too simple to do any kind of "optimization" so youtube in it runs and runs no matter what, while Chrome is "hanging" it consistently when "focus" is moved to another window.

Chrome does this so I use edge while on games

Yeah for some reason after some updates early this year, for me both Chrome and Firefox have been really bad in performance for Youtube. Sound/video stutters and stopping like had some poor connection from 90`s.. especially bad while playing ESO.

But as @MartiniDaniels said, Edge browser works fine for me too. Had to test several when problems started some months ago for me. Now using Edge for all my browser needs. :)

Because every single person must play as you play? Or are you saying that as long as we're not being bombed or dying of a hemorrhagic fever we should have no complaints in this world?

    Sounds like a CPU/GPU bottleneck...

ESO turns any CPU/GPU into bottleneck. 30 fps in room with vmol twins on 1080ti on 2014 game on low settings, what you say about it Elon Mask?

How do you get 30 fps sith that set up. I'm on an older system and run at 50-60 all around on ultra UNLESS I'm in a zerg

You comment has nothing to do with the subject.
Streaming and up/downloading large files has always had an effect on latency, some ISP will even throttle you.
In the old days we used this technique to soft lag switch.
