I know someone with close to 100 Million. But 1000 Million? Doubtful.

I was jonesing for Hunding's Palatial Hall. Didn't want to use crowns. Estimated I'd need about 2 million to buy and furnish the house in the way I wanted to furnish it.

Took me about 6 weeks of grind to raise the gold but I got there, even though I'm not that good at trading. However, I did practically bugger all else except gold grind. I had previously raised the gold to buy and furnish Ald Velothi too - probably in excess of 750k.

Someone who is better at trading than me could have raised the same amounts of gold that I raised a lot faster.

Doing nothing except activities aimed at making gold, would almost certainly allow a player to pull in tens of millions within a couple of months. I haven't pulled a flying red monkey out of my butt in saying that - my comments are based upon direct experience of how much gold CAN be made.

    Yes, of course it does.

Game has been running for 5 years, so if you have been reselling highish ticket items for most of that time you could easily have billions, by now.

The answer of "other" or idc were not available so I did not vote. Especially since this is all due to a hypothetical that does not require being a billionaire. Fortunately we do not have a GAH that would make it easier to manipulate the market.

I really do not see the point of this as Zos should not do anything about it. The people with sums of gold have merely been active and smart about matters that bring them gold and help them keep it.

I know this because I used to be silly about my gold and spent it on shiny objects I wasted it. As soon as I ceased wasting it I started gaining it hand over fist. Funny how that works just like real life.

Zos cannot do anything about this because they know if they punish show smart about their gold they will lose active paying players. We will just give Zos a friendly, but very specific salute as we go out the door. After all, we are among the most active players which is why we have all that gold

ZoS (or the money men, at least) will only care if players like you leave, if you spend a lot of real money on ESO+ and in the Crown Store.

Conversely, if these types of players generally don't do that and are as tight in real life as they are in the game, ZoS will no doubt be happy to see them go.

Especially if they are, via their reselling actions, helping to cause other people (who do spend more real money on the game) to quit/stop spending money, when they otherwise wouldn't.

I think there are "billionares" but only a few and most of it would be across multiple characters as I believe gold count is capped at 999,999,999 per character?
Ah, e-communities - the "pinnacle" of the internet............yeah, right.

It frequently comes to me the idea of how a kind of auction house which only offers rare items would fit and affect ESO economy, playerbase, etc.
I think it could be a great idea, so the player who are really into trading can have another endgame feature for their favourite play-style.
My idea comes from that well-known mmo, there would be super rare and random items, like a piece of endgame gear, a crown item, etc. and players would have to dump their millions there.

No, ESO really doesn’t have billionaires.
It's possible that there are a few in the game, but your fears really are unfounded. Most of the ultra-wealthy players are in the range of 200 to 400 million.

There are people in every MMO who literally have nothing better to do with their time than earn fake money.

They are gold sellers and can easily make $500 a day just by selling "fake money". That's way more than someone would make with a regular job...

I've only seen one person so far ever to have over 1b, he had like 800m + tons of tempers totalling to more than 300m or so.

I haven't played the whole 5 years even though I played during beta most I ever made was at MW launch and during that one year I made over 400m so yeah I believe people could definitely have over 1b by this time if they played more than 3 years

No. There could be, but they are all afraid of losing billions to integer overflow.

Knowing ZOS that might actually be a problem.
