I wanted to see what bosmer players think about the roll passive after being able to play on it for a while.
What I have experienced is that having the pen only available for ~5 sec after a 1 sec roll makes it really hard to incorporate into a damage rotation, where if you try to use other short duration buffs timing all of these together is almost near impossible. For instance trying to time together an infused weapon damage enchant on a bow backbar with a dodgeroll takes away roughly 3 sec, leaving you with only a second or two to make use of the buffs. In a pve situation I can't see someone ever roll dodging during a damage rotation to get that pen. In pvp the pen is really only useful on very certain builds that dont have any sort of timing involved (dot/proc).
My take on what would be better would be:
make the pen half of what it is but constant
then leave the speed attached to the dodgeroll
This allows the offensive part to be put into an offensive rotation and not have to be paid for in stam and time wasted rolling, while still allowing the defensive part to be paired with the defensive mechanic. If constant pen is too strong compared to something like weapon damage I wouldn't mind having it be weapon damage or weapon crit. My biggest problem is that an offensive buff is tied to the defensive mechanic forcing the bosmer race to be bottle necked into one singular playstyle as it was before.
