Can you be a Tank/Healer (for PUG Vet-Pledges) with no attribute investment at all?

A have a couple Stam-DPS characters that I HATE doing daily dungeons with because the queue-times take an eternity. But if I re-spec their attributes into tanks/healers, they won't really make effective stam-DPS (besides, I already have other characters for that). Instead I got to thinking: with 64-points in Stamina only, could I still fill the role of a tank or even a healer with JUST a Gear & Skill swap?

Keep in mind, I am specifically talking for Non-DLC Vet-Pledges. I'm not expending to go into endgame trials like this. I just want to know, given the proper gear/skills/food, if I could queue for a non-DPS role without being dead weight on my team.

Yes, all base vets are easily tankable with 25k HP and 25k resistances. (if you are CP500+)

My non health tanks have 64 in stam. You're going to get more tied up with morphs than attributes. You're fine.

If you only have stam characters don't try to run them as a healer, but you'll be just fine as a tank (and will have shorter queue times).

Yes you can tank with 64 points into Stam, just use your enchants on gear to make up for the lack of Magicka that you will need for support and control...
Remember tanking is far more than just poking the boss...
Really it would be best to make a dedicated char into a tank so you can choose the right morphs on skills and properly support your group.
If you are having trouble sitting in que for 15-20 mins as a dps try making some friends, join guilds and start grouping with them.
As a tank main I seek out my guildies and friends that do decent dps and que with them.
Pugging on a tank can be horrible at times.
Just keep in mind tank is a support role you are required to support your group and add control in vet content along with keeping taunt on priority targets so your gear and skill choices should reflect that.

Thanks for the reply mate! What about healer? Is there are chance?

I don't ONLY have stam characters, but I am asking about them because obviously its ridiculously easy to run a Magdps as a Healer, since they share the same attributes. Why is it so impossible to run them as healers though? Isn't only like a 6.4k difference in Magicka? Is it really that much of a problem in Base-game vets?

I already HAVE a dedicated character for that. I'm trying to run Pledges on multiple characters, A.) So I can get more keys and B.) because I need to train the Undaunted skill line on them. It's these characters that I'm having queue issues with, so I was wondering if (for base game pledges only) they could be "good enough" in the other roles with proper skills & gear.

Easy. My tank has full points in stamina as well. You can use gear to make sure you reach an adequate amount of health. As a for your info: you can reach >65.000 health without putting a single point in the health attribute.

For healer it is even easier, since healer naturally needs a lot of effective spell power to heal.. so you just slot more dps skills and that's all.

But in practice you reach whopping 38k if properly geared. Ok, 45k if Imperial and with minor toughness active.

While many vet dungeons have been cleared with a tank who could toss some heals and 3 dps, OP is asking about doing this with pugs.

The one thing we know when running with a pug group, and especially with a GF pug group, that it can be very bad. So the answer to the question is yet, but that does not mean you will have success much of the time unless you are running with reasonably skilled players.

You can get higher easily using plague doctor + warrior poet or another source of minor toughness, and class skills that boost health. Not saying super high health makes for a good tank though.

I have leveled my 9 alt undaunted as tank or healer. As stamina you can do all older dungeons easily with max poits in stamina. Take decent tanking gear x2 and dps monster set etc and you age good to go. If you are a newbie READ TACTICS so you can do no death runs too and grind undaunted just faster by not dying.

For these stamina characters you'd maybe heal with -- do you have the skill points to put into light armor passives, resto staff skills, and so on?

Main character: Qojikrin - Khajiit Sorcerer Tank/Stamina DD - since March 25, 2015.
Guildmaster of Oriflamme: Focus on 4 player endgame content.
Member of Brave Cat Trade, Panda Division and Toadhuggers.

All 4-man trifectas - TTT, IR, GH

Sure. Throw on ebon+plague doctor with a monster set of choice. You may need to swap around some CPs for some things like vet DLC no death achieves.

I do it all the time. If your character’s mag you can heal vets, if you’re stam go tank.
Looking for any guildies I used to play with:
    Havoc Warhammer - Alair
LoC EQ2 - Mayi and Iskiab
PRX and Tabula Rasa - Rift - Iskiab
Or anyone else I used to play games with in guilds I’ve forgotten

    For non DLC, yeah.

For DLC dungeons, especially the latter ones, probably could do tank. Just gear for lots of health.

That’s what I did, plague doctor plus ebon. Super easy.... as CP810.

I don’t know what the magic number is, but at some point things that used to be hard are a cake walk.

Easy enough I did all the non-DLC vets with other weapon skills slotted on my front bar to level them up. It was great, by the time I finished undaunted I had gotten to 50 on 2hander, Bow and DW.

This is also with great gear though since I’d been collecting tanking sets on my main.
