Which bit of beta is/was considered "the closed beta"? I thought it was all invite-only, but maybe I'm wrong. According to my emails, I signed up for the beta in Nov 2013. The next mail I have (from Feb 2014) talks about breaking stress test records, so I assume more was going on before then.

I ran into Wykkd's in zone during that phase (The guy that first made some of the Wykkd addons before he left the game) and he explained a lot of the basics of the game to me as this was my first MMO.-- @xaraan --

"Closed Beta" is always invite only beta. That's why it is closed. usually they do rounds of closed betas. Open beta is essentially open to anyone who wants to participate OR who meets whatever requirements are set (pre-ordering for instance). But it's not invite only, so it is "open" to almost everyone. I believe I was a 2nd round beta invitee, which was November of 2013. Then I tried the open beta which was like a month or something before the April 2014 launch.0 -

Yea, what I meant was that I thought the whole of ESO's beta was invite-only, thus I was asking if all beta here = closed beta.
I suppose I could've just asked "When did the open beta start for ESO?"

Greg11jkalfa✭✭✭Since Lanuch/BetaAlthough the majority of votes are since launch/beta, nearly 50% of them aren't. I think ESO picks up new players often, but doesn't have the same appeal to players that had a rough time when it launched.

Still have me first toon, an Argonian Stamina Sorc "Terrible-Thunder-Lizard." Still remember the the zone chats, were a few people still learning and someone asked about stam sorcs... wished I took pics of those answers... roughly something, something Sorcs are only magicka dps or nothing, and trying to be a stam sorc was utter blasphemy and get you "reported" for trolling your group.0 -
