Almost anything that adds variety of content has my support. I'm forty-five and both my parents game online, so although they're not here in ESO I can relate. My dad is seventy and he simply enjoys levelling and playing different classes, he's not interested in harvesting or crafting because in his own words, he "just likes to kill stuff". They struggle to keep up in dungeons and (I think) would utilize an option to join a slow paced group of it existed but they don't like the same type of activities.

Will be the BIG 5.0. soon and have been gaming since the text based days (and board games too).

Love ESO (played some beta and switched to console on release) and enjoy all aspects of the games PVP/PVE offerings.
Just got "Grand Master Crafter" and "Master Angler" titles on the same week! (a few weeks back now).

Have no intention of ever stopping. I'm finding (like most here have mentioned) that as I'm getting older, I'm finding MORE time available to dedicate to it. (Now that the kids are grown and off doing their things). Retirement, when it comes, will just add more game time to the daily roster as far as I'm concerned.

As others have also said... Once a gamer, always a gamer! And I like to consider myself one of the OG's (Original Gamers)! lol

I'm in the "older player" category; my dad is (not surprisingly) even older than I am. We completed Fungal Grotto 1 as a duo pretty easily recently. I know that's not that hard to do, I'm just saying, old also means experienced.

But I feel like the OP was talking about people for whom much of the game might be a challenge, for whatever reason. I can see how a fishing furnishing could be nice, if that was the case.

    ooooooh yeah...

56 here myself and been a gamer from the moment I first played that, must have been a year after it first appeared so 1973?

I've enjoyed being there to see the evolution of gaming from that to this first hand.

Hell, I may even open one in a few more years.
<3 to all the other old school gamers out there!

OP, private fishing holes (or any type of nodes) will prob never happen sadly. That being said, there are certain places in ESO where fishing can be done somewhat privately. The beaches in Artaeum don't even have mobs iirc; and there are some other spots as well you'd just have to do a bit of searching (fishing addon can help by showing the holes then you can decide if it's a quiet enough spot). Anyway, just a thought...

+1 to more home items from fishing and daily fishing quests would be awesome (if they rewarded small house items).

PS: After finishing my fishing achiev, I've got enough fish and seaweed to build a cabin with xD Lil' more diversity would be nice!

Hmm well at 70 + I am an end game player on Xbox and my guild consider me an Elite player. I have been playing since Oblivion I L O VE playing ESO. My guildmates treat me with love and respect though it does get wild at times, I hear the cry "skip take your headphones off" haha xx and I really enjoy playing with them and the challenge of improving my Healer excites me. I play healer all the time and lead Trials each week which I love. The younger players are happy to involve me and we enjoy a lot of banter. It is an awesome relationship I have with my guildmates and a lot of them I have been playing with since the start of ESO. I have even been invited to come to wedding anniversaries, birthdays etc but the cost of travel from Oz is expensive. Anyway if you even need a healer or a hug look me up :) Lady Nan xx

Age is nothing more than a state of mind. One of the things I LOVE about online gaming is that you get to meet the real person. I met my best friend in WOW and we are so different had we seen each other on the street we wouldn't have looked at each other twice much less spoken. BUT we met in game, where outward appearance and age meant nothing.

I have soooooo many friends I've met in game that I still keep in contact with, some since 2003 and FFXI. Going to see Reel Big Fish and Bowling for Soup Thursday night with a friend I met in WOW 4 years ago :)

The thoughts of this one, who has neither yet acquired the wisdom of great older age nor is a kitten anymore.

We do what we love. Why should we stop doing the things we love because of a number?

We grow yes, we may find new things we enjoy - but there is no reason at all we should not still enjoy the things we enjoyed 20 or 30 years ago.

We were perhaps the first generation to grow up travelling to other lands via magic boxes. It has been many years now and it surprises this one that still we bear the stigma we carried when we first started - that it is not a 'normal' thing to do. That we should play 'outside world' more.

Pfft. This one has earnt the right to do exactly as she pleases - for at least two days a week.

This is not going to change.

I've re-celebrated my 29th birthday so often that neither I nor my 29 year old son remember how old I actually am LOL.

My son always loved that I gamed tho because if I yelled "dinner is ready" and he said "can't I'm raiding" I brought him a plate to eat while playing. Wasn't quite so happy when he said "what's for dinner" and I replied "didn't have time to cook, had to do guild stuff and got a raid in 30..." HAHA

No I get all my adulting done as early as possible on weekends so I can spend the rest of the time playing. Having a job sucks (but I can sneak playtime in at work ~.^.

I agree that content is not about age ; I am an end-game player, I ran all the vet HM content with sometimes top score EU, all achievement (Tick Tock etc) ; tho I am 40+, I am a woman, I have kids. BUT I must tell that is sometimes an issue to cannot really join people of my generation. I really would like to play with people of my age, all my guildies are so much younger ; but all the "mature" guilds I see are claiming themselves as "casuals" ; I tried to join one ; I was kicked the first day because I proposed to run a vet trial; just in a chill and cool way. That looked suspicious ; certainly, I wanted to steal players :# OMG.... Playing endgame create the suspicion to be "elitist" (that is false ; I like also questing, housing, pledging... I am Master Fisher).
So in my trial guild I seem different, sometimes creating suspicion because of my age ("40 is so old! are you sure too be still swift enough? oh you have kids ; is it ok for the trials schedule?"), or at least jokes, sometimes tiring.
And in some other groups I seem different and bring suspicion because of the endgame I like to play.
So most of the time I have to forget a part of myself, to hide it.
yes, I would really enjoy a "Mature group" that not only fish and that not think that the game you like to play is a matter of gender or age.

In my experience, ESO definitely does have an older average playerbase than some of the other MMORPG's out there. Personally, I'm a fan of this. 31 here.

    Yesssss!

I'm counting on that......when the time comes, the first thing that will be packed and ready to go will be whichever incarnation my beloved gaming rig happens to be. The second thing will be a fridge for storing necessary supplies. Luckily my grown up kids are all gamers, so they will know what to bring :)

Not sure how the staff will cope with us old gamers playing all night, and hording snacks and (preferably alcoholic) drinks for lengthy dungeon/raiding sessions in our rooms. Generally disrupting the home's routine. But they''ll get used to it!

I ❤ the age diversity in eso. I always feel very young but I think that's because I'm emotionally ***.
I hope you find what makes you happy in eso. I don't really understand why going fishing outside your house is hard but I want to understand.. I know in Elsweyr there are lots of active fishing holes and not many players fishing that I've seen. Perhaps it is busy when you play. I hope you find what you seek and that you enjoy many more happy and healthy years of gaming❤😊

If the Crown Store had a playable fishing spot you could put in water areas of your home, I’d get a few. Topal Island for Sea fishing, maybe a lake, stream and swamp spot too. They could have it on the same reset timer as overland.

Tavern games would be great too, or even a mini game you could play with friends in your home.

Older players TEND to be more sociable and less “max everything quickly”, so some casual additions would be nice. Then I can relax after a trial or PvP.

I recently read the average age of a gamer is 31. 36+ made up 39% of gamers. So yeah, not just for kids.

I am 44 and started playing MMOs when EQ was popular. The ESO community seems older with discussions often about kids, work, and other real life events. It's unfortunate that you haven't found a guild that has an older roster. For me, the young players are the exception to my guild experience, not the rule.

I don't say there is no mature community (and happily, this threat shows it up) ; I am saying that is hard to find endgame guild with older people ; or, even for other activities (because my playtime is also for questing, pledging, having fun etc), I met sadly suspicion because of my endgame activities.

If you look on the guild announcements, there are I think 3 or 4 guilds" mature friendly", and all claim a casual gameplay. That shouldn't be an issue for me, I like all game play ; BUT (and it is my sad recent experience) I met suspicion there : "what are your goal by joining us as you are already running hard content and we cannot offer that? Humm certainly, you must have a secret evil goal like STEALING OUR PLAYERS FOR YOUR END-GAME GROUP" ; yes, that is exactly the message I received ; this guild is still announcing in the forum....
So, for me, it seems that if you want to join mature people to share with, you must be casual ; if you enjoy having been first score EU on vCR+3 GH.... huum that's suspicious

(Just to say : when I joined, there was MOTD asking people to be active, propose activities etc ; so I did ; as I had a free evening, I asked who would like to run a vet trial, whatever ; and ofc I asked people previous experience just to know what we could run ; I even apologized in advance "I hope it's ok, I am new and not sure about how it works here" ; when I woke up in the morning, I discovered I have been kicked and received an insulting message from the GL ; so well, sadly, I came back to my 18 old mates, who are very nice but have my daughter age.... )
