I didn't know the molten whip seething fury stacks was a bug

I have been doing lightning staff heavy attack off meta build for a very long time, combined with aether on dk.
On saturday I completed my false god set and decided to try light attack rotation, which I have never done before.
I never look up build I only make them myself and practice rotation. I spend half saturday and whole sunday creating and testing my rotation and optimize it.
And now today I see the whip only procs once and remove the buff seething fury.
The old build I didn't even use whip and the losing stacks doesn't stand either in any patch notes or on the skill tooltip.
Could stuff like this maybe be a bit more clear in the future? Both patch notes and write the tooltips better.
Any mag dk out there that have any preference of what they think is best to do?, Do you prefere to use whip as spammable or to try keep up the seething fury stack as much as possible? PVE btw.

It was supposed to consume the stacks upon activation of your whip. Said in the original 5.x.x patch notes.

ok maybe I missed that one in that case but it's still not clear on tooltips. Just annoying that one time I decided to use whip it was bugged like this.

Edit: Molten Whip (morph): Reworked this ability so it no longer grants a passive bonus to Weapon and Spell Damage while slotted. Instead, this passive grants access to Seething Fury, a 33% damage bonus to your next Molten Whip cast and increase of 125 Weapon and Spell Damage every time you activate an Ardent Flame ability that isn't Molten Whip. This bonus can stack up to 3 times, lasts 5 seconds, and will refresh in duration every time it is applied to you.

Taken from patch notes. Am I blind, where does it stand you lose the stacks on activate whip?

I guess it is just implied that you knew how power lash worked before... where it consumed the off proc when used off balance.

The one time I tested whip it didn't lose the stacks.
It is not mentioned in any patch notes or on any skills.
I don't understand why it's so hard to just write it on the tooltip.

Well the Tooltip does say "which increases the damage of your next Molten Whip by 33%", meaning only that one whip is buffed but I can see how you would be confused.

I think they could still make it so whip didn't lose the spell dmg stacks atleast, but only consume the extra dmg from whip itself.

What?? So magDK should just get a permanent 525+ bonus to weapon/spell damage? Seems legit..
