No I'm honestly asking. I realize tone of voice is hard to tell over the internet but I am genuinely, not sarcastically, asking this question.

I read the rules and I wasn't clear. I'm not going anywhere right now. Not quitting, that isn't what I'm saying at all.

I’m not too sure.... I think it’s ok if you express that you’re thinking of leaving.... but not actual quitting/goodbye posts.

If I had to wager a guess, probably yes.

If my memory serves me correct, there was a poster who made a clickbait goodbye thread title, and mods responded as if it was a goodbye thread. He then got salty and made another thread, saying something along the lines of "Oh, thanks ZOS, now i'm genuinely leaving cos your mods suck".

I'm not sure what happened to that poster, but if I had to wager a guess, those 2 threads were the last 2 threads he posted before having his forum posting privileges and his game license revoked.

That said, I've seen the odd thread where moderators leave it up cos the community is being nice/being supportive (with goodbye portions slightly edited to match forum rules), but if your post consists of something along the lines of "I'm kicking around leaving, because of XYZ reasons", then it's probably gonna be closed because most of the comments consist of popcorn gifs, "can i haz your stuff", or otherwise derail the thread with spam/bait/troll comments.

I'm not debating it. Just wanted to know it.

Oh, this isn't about me. I'm not quitting rn.
