I’m wanting to start trials and get better at pve bc I strictly play pvp. So I want to know what role is easier to get into and play during a vet trial(Ik know no role is easy, but there has to be one that is easier to learn and play than others for trials) Necromancer tank appeals to me a lot for trials and dungeons but I’m worried tanking would be to hard and I don’t want to invest so much on gear if it doesn’t pay off, but it seems the most fun. Dps seems decent but it’s hard to hit 30k for me. And healer I just don’t want the blame if everything goes to hell(this goes for ranks too). I just need a little guidance. Sorry for being so desperate for help lol

    Healer
As a healer you get to see more of what is going on, how people position themselves and where the main focus is per role. If you're starting out and want to learn the basic flow of a trial, I'd say healer is the best introductory role. That doesn't mean there is any less expectation on you doing your job, though - - you still have to bring the buffs and know how to heal properly... There is a level of responsibility in it.

Going dps, you just have to know your rotation well enough to deal decent damage, and be able to follow instruction (don't be a hero, don't pull, don't do fa until instructed). But most importantly, ask questions if you don't know how it plays out.

    Dps for vet trials
Go with dps when you are beginning healer is tough and tank is even more difficult those 2 roles require knowing mechanics but dps not much.

    Dps for vet trials
As someone who mains a tank gotta say it can be tricky, and sometimes very easy. Tanks gotta worry about having the right gear, amount of health, taunting everything, mechanics, moving the boss/bosses etc. It can at times be trying, depending on the trial. Healers....grateful for them! Don't wanna be them. xD Everyone relies on them, everyone. They also have to farm sets, have a ton of magicka or stamina to be able to spam healing abilities.

I think the easiest by far is going as a DD. Why? Because as long as you do a decent amount of damage (minimum 30k for veteran trials - higher for others) you will be fine. Just stay alive, don't stand in red. The most difficult part I've noticed about DD, it can take a lot of testing and gear farming to do that 30k damage.

If you're planning on playing a support role, it helps to know the ins and outs of every trial. Tanking isn't all about keeping aggro and healing isn't all about spamming heals. You will eventually need to know what each boss can do, and how hard they hit for.

As a healer, you would need to start healing big damage PREEMPTIVELY as opposed to just reacting as it happens. You need to manage buffs on your allies, as well as debuffs on enemies.

As a tank, you would need to know which attacks to definitely block, which attacks are weak, etc. You would also be in charge of add/boss placement, debuffing enemies, managing resources during critical moments, and knowing that one mistake of yours could potentially wipe the group.

Dps is more about picking a class and holding your own, in terms of damage. Learning a rotation, spending hours in front of a dummy perfecting it, and also being able to do it while avoiding life threatening mechanics.

Whatever you choose, it will take time to master it, so don't stress over it. You're going to have to farm gear, regardless, especially if you plan on being a tank or healer. I think I have like 7 different sets on my healer, each for different situations. Tanks have just a little bit less to farm, maybe like 4 sets at most. You'll also need various monster sets for both support roles. For dps, you'll have to farm maelstrom if you want to be serious about vet trials. Try out each role, and see if it's right for you. It's the only way you'll really know.

What do you think about the dlc dungeons? Is that also easier to go DD? I’m also not sure what class I should use you know I feel like I really want to use my necro but I’m not sure if I should DD with mag or Stam with necro. Or tank it all seems fun lol but I can only pick one due to character slots(I’m looking for something to run trials and dlc dungeons bc I haven’t played any of them)

Tanks are rather important for dlc dungeons, you will need to know the mechanics rather well and if you go down as a tank there is a good chance the group will wipe.
With that being said as an average player I have tanked every dlc dungeon and most I learned mechanics on as a tank.
I just don't recommend a pug group to learn them with.
Get some guildies or friends and learn with them you will probably have a better time that way.
