Since there are so many more class Stamina morphs with Necro than other classes, is it possible to run with a 1H&S Necro and simply skip the taunt skill to remain a DD? I have the build with a 2H right now, and have not used weapon skills, just class Stamina morphs. Would it matter if I swap to 1H&S? Since I use no weapon skills? Or are the passives from DW and 2H to much to pass on?
1H&S wasn't meant for straight DPS. You can still make it's abilities that do damage hit decently such as the taunt, but you have no AoE, no DoT. 1H&S builds are either for PvP, or for fun overland PvE.
Passives for 2H and DW best S&B into the ground. Plus you don’t get the super suspicious tank giving you side eye and waiting for you to take their taunt.
Im running S&B on my stam necro, hes only L30 and i mainly use class skills, fun as hell and rips through stuff very easy, however as with most Stamina dps i guess 2 hand or DW will output more numbers.
I may try him with the Knight Errant stuff sitting in the bank for a laugh but then im a soloer/delve buster

Necromancer has a few AoE Stamina morphs, Scythe and Siphon
But I get the passives come into play a little more as well. I was wishful that it could be viable, I know not optimal, but always worth getting some other peoples insight first
S&B for DPS is usually best for classes that have multiple class skills over weapon skills since they're not weapon reliant. The best classes I found for Stam S&B are Templar and Dragon Knight. Necromancer doesn't feel like it has enough of its own skills to pull it off.
I would think S/B Bow would work much better than S/B DW, but that might just be a preference thing. Bow 2H works quite well.
I think Necromancer has more than enough class skills to make S/B DPS work. Maybe not optimal, but viable...yes. I’ve already done this on a nightblade. It works.
But I eventually gave in to wanting a little more damage. That was way before everyone and their brother was hitting 70k on a fake target dummy. And expecting you to do the same.
