Typical Stamplar

I’ve always played a Stamblade, but recently I’ve been rethinking whether it’s still for me.

I mostly play a brawler playstyle and feel like Templar might be more my thing, especially as I love the look of the skills Biting Jabs and Binding Javelin.

To all the PvP Stamplars out there, what does a typical setup look like?

Am I making a smart choice jumping ship from Blade to Plar?

Imo it's a big change to go through with. Stamblade is one of the strongest classes in the game as it has been since nearly the very beginning, and Stamplar is currently considered one of the more difficult classes to pull off in PvP.

If you manage to pull it off though, I'm sure it will feel very rewarding.

While I haven't played either of the classes recently and can't give you advice about the best performing setup, I recommend you watch AnimationCanceling on YouTube, he's a stamblade main (one of the best I know) and has recently made the swap to stamplar as well!

Stamplar skill setup isnt as set in stone as for example magsorc.

Coming from stamblade id say some kind of a 2h/bow setup would work well for you.

Spriggans (frontbar only), bone pirate, bloodspawn and masters bow is a pretty basic setup, that you may have played on stamblade too.
Nord or Orc(with protective).
Works decently in open world/bgs, but it may struggle aganist heavy/snb brawler/tank setups that rotate reverb/heroic.
Thankfully you should have the mobility/sustain to out kite them.

Another one would be ruinning some kind of heavy armor s/b setup with a combination of 2 offensive sets.
Not my cup of tea but i know a couple of stamplars here on EU that can do amazing things with it.

Another one would be spriggans(again frontbar only)+seventh/fury/ravaging(pick one), bloodspawn, with Brp dual wield backbar, medium armor(again nord or orc with protective). Good damage/mobility/tankiness, but you will have to rely on heavy attacks a lot for sustain.

I am currently leveling a kitty stamplar in non-vet and bg.
5h hundings, 2 medium night mother
3 night mother jewlery
mech acuity sword and board

basic playstyle is gap close , low slash, jab jab jab dead.

There are many strong ways to take your stamplar in PvP but I prefer the Power of the Light + Jabs spam style for relentless pressure. Binding javelin is a fantastic CC and extended ritual removing 5 debuffs is pretty essential to templar gameplay, its the only magicka ability on my bars.

I think that stamplar relies a little more on regen than other classes for dodge and vigor healing. Bone pirate/spriggans is my favorite setup because I find stacking penetration works better than crit/crit damage, and bone pirate is just unmatched for stat value and regen. I use blood spawn as its just too good but slimecraw is also very good for minor berserk.

I personally run 2H / shield, but DW/2H is another strong combo and so is 2H/Bow. My front bar is stampede, power of the light, jabs, carve, and rally. My back bar is ransack, reverb bash, extended ritual, vigor, and rune. The only thing I dont use that most players do is a snare immunity or major expo buff, but I just rely on ritual to remove snares and charge for mobility.

Played stamplar for many years. Currently running BS, 7th on body and spriggans and it feels really good. Dual wield/bow. Fb: blood craze, flying blade, jabs, quick cloak ult: db of smiting
Bb: poison inject, draining shot/javelin, potl, rune, ritual ult: flexible I run empowering sweep for the major protect which is ridiculous on an already tanky build.

Plays a lot like a dk. Keep up dots and potl and melt people. Bloodcraze, 7th, vigor, ritual offers really good healing over time. All included is like a 8-10k hot.

Would be even better if I had a master's bow.

My build is a bit weird because all the good stam sets that I have are on other toons atm but I really like it:

Trappings of Invigoration (bow+2pc body+1pc jewelry)
Cyrodiil's Ward (2h+3pc body)
Troll King
Agility (2pc jewelry)

I've always struggled w/ stam sustain in no-CP so trappings was a godsend.

Empowering sweep doesnt have major protection anymore.

Thanks for the clarification. I took a break right before this current patch and didn't realize that.
