Will Necro be fixed before the next DLC?

1. Detonating Siphon targeting is broken.
2. Blastbones periodically gets perma locked.

I've played this game for 5 years, so long enough to expect such gross incompetence as releasing a new class that cant even use one of their main abilities. The question I have is whether this paid for class will be fixed in an incremental or do we just wait for the next DLC. Actually since plenty of precedents have been set already, let me amend that question to:"Will it even be fixed in the next DLC?"

They got that when they hired Gil, so we would expect since one would think they hired him because of his knowledge of the game, problem solving skills and probably thoughts for the future of the game.

Of course his thoughts might be drowned out or he sees things more their way. We have no way of knowing.

No, most likely not. And if they do, they will break something else

Well, that costs money and cuts into the profit margin. Investors don't like that. I wouldn't hold my breath.

I just dont understand how even after reports of skills not working, the content is still released unfixed. Either hire people competent enough to fix the issue, or hire enough people to do so.

pretty much this. I have no idea how ZOS works internally but based on working in the corporate world for a few years I feel like there's a good chance the devs know exactly what's wrong (or some in the dev team do) but are simply unable to fix it due to bureaucratic red tape and "this will cost money" - mostly the latter.

The story I like to tell ppl is that time the team I worked for had an ongoing issue with a simple fix, which required some funding and hiring. And I offered to do it for FREE in my spare time, and in fact did the fix and had it ready to deploy...and was still refused. Everything was on the up and up and yet management be like "nah...this is too much cost"...and I'm guessing something about bureaucratic red tape.

I doubt it. They will most likely abandon it like they did with Warden; and we all know how much of a hot mess Magden is.

I highly doubt Gil is there to help them with improving algorithm runtimes or server infrastructure improvements you 2 head.

    * I think he just does combat balance not actual bug fixing caused by ZoS spaghetti code.

Magden is just weak in PvE. It’s not really a hot mess, it’s not buggy.

    Will Necro be fixed...
...do you really think the bughunting team is going to code themselves out of a job? When they fix Necro issues, you can be sure something else will mysteriously go wrong... :p;)

Yeah, I am just kidding. Mostly.

Thing is, something -always- works other then intended. And then they go and find the fault and fix it, and by the next patch or so one of their numerous fixes broke something else... hard to avoid in a game this complex.
So... something will always be wrong, they will always work on it, and whining about it on the forums generally won't make them work faster, since I reckon generally the bughunters are working on squishing the bugs instead browsing the forums.
Reporting any bugs you stumble across on the other hand might, because usually the more reports they get, the higher priority squishing that particular bug will have...

Seriously people. Millions (maybe billions) of lines of code. Could YOU fix it? You realize, this is the same issue with windows of whichever flavor. It's so huge, NO ONE can make it work perfectly.

Hmmm. Maybe we really do need robots.... They can go where no human can ever consider being.

I often get the feeling they have really small teams on all key features of the game, combat team tiny, not enough testers, quota on work is long so things needs to fix/adjust in a schedule that not always make everyone happy, when everyone wants the thing that bothers them to be fixed first, so for all of us who play daily its often a long wait, relatively. Weeks and months not that long time, but we feel so of course.

I am not a whiteknight or a defender, just have a feeling their team has started to be a bit too small, since game is growing really fast, more and more players, more content coming up with a tight schedule. They are doing that part right, since game just keeps growing.

But i bet that behind the scenes many of them are working near burnout levels. And the huge pressure we giving them.. most likely they joke there about reading this forum is the biggest form of masochism or something haha.

The thing is.. right now they seem to have a workplace with nice atmosphere and fun team to be creative with, good synergies between the team is always very visible on ESO Live streams also. Hiring many new people in while it might make some work be done faster, it might also change the atmosphere.. Complicated things, but i bet they think these a lot. Hiring good coders is not as easy as one thinks, hiring good coders that also are nice fit to the team is a challenge.

Ending rant by just saying, i feel they are working on things as fast as they can with the workload they got. So we just need some patience. I know i know.. i also paid the fiddy euro for my necromancer and hope it gets fixed ASAP. :p

For everyone Who dont understand how they release such a bugged class... You should have seen the pts... Every thread was about NB "nerf" (in my opinion it s an up in pvp, a well deserved nerf in pve, and they are Still very strong, but that s not the subject sorry ! ^^), so they didnt get any report for the necro..so yeah they Just dont have the time to correct what they almost didnt knew about i guess...

And stop acusing the devs, they are doing à great job, blame the manager instead, the one Who lead the team in the bad direction (bad priorities ect ect...)

This is correct. Even if Gil or any of them had the cure, he’s not the boss. Sometimes it’s best to nod your head and smile when the manager comes up with “great ideas”.

Blastbone just bothers me that when you cast it at max range while running towards the enemy you will arrive at the enemies before blastbones

I disagree with your assessment. Barring the fact that they permitted one class to dominate PvE for over a year, releasing a paid for class unfinished is inexcusable...

This is not correct, the issues were brought to the attention of the devs on forums, discord and private communication. They were well aware of the issues...they just failed to fix them..

Well you know, while they try to make all classes be inside a certain margin (like they did with racial passive changes, allthough Orc ended up a bit overloaded).. you know like in pretty much all (succesful) mmos there always is this small % imbalance at the top that makes the metachasers roll new characters, buy race tokens and so on. It is not a thing that is spoken openly, but without having to be wearing any tinfoil hats.. thats how it goes lol.

Not saying there is no bugs at necro, trust me my face melts from frustration everytime i try using Blastbones for couple of hours, especially when even a bit of lag, like in Cyrodiil. So i know. Not happy about it.

But i think they will fix the issues. I have faith in them. But what i meant is that when i close my eyes, i can imagine them working hard already on the next 2 DLC that are coming, and hoping they have time to work on things like this class and fixing it to a proper quality product. I paid fiddy as said, i want my Blastbones to BLAST. :D

Yeah... Shadow image bugged since Murkmire (around 9 months till now), don't expect necro to be fixed very soon.
I'm done with this game because of ZOS pushing us into Vengeance, because they don't know how to fix Cyrodiil.
