that exploit is't even possible anymore, so don't count on it. You need to defeat at least one dragon to get to the chests. And those that can defeat the bosses won't bother with non-perfected

The majority of players are not on the forums. I’d feel bad for any non forum player who joined a group in zone chat and the group told them not to fight anything. They could easily check to see if the player was ever on the forums though. I certainly couldn’t claim innocence with my thousands of posts.

I got randomly in a group, was my first time in sunspire. Noticed they skipped everything and looted chests only. I left.
I don't think they are that innocent if they keep doing this over and over again so I guess if zos ban someone, they are pretty sure it's heavily exploited. When that is said, it's lazy and poor design in the first place so idk I have no opinion other than I wont do it myself regardless exploit or not because 1: I dont want non perfect and 2: Its embarrasing stupid to want to run a vet trial without actually playing the game. Even skipping the mobs is pretty poor.

I have to HIGHLY doubt this is the case. There was no difference in farming the chests in sunspire from farming the chests in any other dungeon. It even only gives imperfect gear which no one really cares about. Aside from that there was no communication that it was an exploit or even a problem from ZoS at any point. Just because they decided they didn't like people doing it and patched it out doesn't mean they're going punish people for it.

It's not an exploit though. You kill mobs, you skip some and you have chests you loot them. You didn't go out of the map, you didn't glitch a boss, you went there fair and square.

Foremost, the chest run thing is not an "exploit." It's a design mistake, and people who looted chests did not employ any outside program to game the system, they just used the tools the game gave us. You can sneak around other dungeons, kill minimal bosses, and loot chests RIGHT NOW. It's not an exploit, despite what anyone's personal feelings and / or unsubstantiated rumors would have you believe.

Imagine the precedent this would set if "bans" happened for people doing something within the officially released game and which harms no one. How long til we get to "lifetime bans for all WW players, because we never intended you to be to pull competent dps by mashing light attack." Obviously that's a dumb example, but it's really not that different--both are dumb things that exist in the game that, despite being trash, aren't "exploits."

I'm not saying ZOS wouldn't do this, but that chest farm is in no way a TOS violation. It was unintended (as proven by the fix), but players did no actual exploiting to get to those chests. They simply walked past (or in some cases fought) the threats placed in front of them. It's on the devs that the dragon room had an open door on the other side of it that didn't require a fight to go through it. It got fixed because that clearly wasn't the intent, but while it was active, there was no exploiting.

If ZOS chooses to ban players for this, that is their choice, but nobody violated any rules that I'm aware of. That would send a poor message to the community if you can get banned without any violation whatsoever.
