pets and Cosmetics????

Is it about time to disable cosmetic pets and emotes for the sake of the server?

The cosmetic stuff is all well and good and yes I do enjoy these things myself.

But they are not integral to the game.

Turning these off would make more sense while the servers are struggling.

What blasphemy! Turning off one of the features that generates the most sales from the clow store! They would first turn off all skills lol

If that was a solution, I'd be down.

Doesnt matter. Database queries and realtime calculation do the stress. The server gives a bleep about the dog or a /wave

Got to disagree with ou on that one, Boss.

It's a MMORPG after all. They've already butchered my character's identity when they magickally made Bosmers guards instead of thieves, if I can't even chose what I look like, I might as well stop playing.

Also, it would be no help at all.

Pet animations are not executed on the server. The server merely tells you "user X has pet Y", and then you run that animation on your computer. It's easy to tell when playing with someone else in the same room, as I do. When you watch the two screens, you see that pets are not synchronised. Pretty much nothing strictly visual is, really.

Then, cosmetics... remove them, and you'll have to show armors instead. Which may be of different styles, and colours. So, assuming character looks have an impact (and I suppose that impact is about the same as pets, but for the sake or argument...), the only way to remove that impact would be to replace everyone's character by the same placeholder. Make everyone look exactly the same. I'll go fetch some pitchforks and wait for others to bring torches.

Nah, don't worry, we'll see a massive server improvement the day World of Warcraft Classic comes out. Pretty sure the guys at ZOS simply don't want to over-improve server and just wait it out, until the the massive influx of supposedly temporary players leaves.

    Try again bloody stoopid system.

The information for you own pets/animations are done on your computer then the information is sent over the server.

    Therefore causing server bandwidth.

BTW, am not saying turn them off completely but that things like this should be turned off before others that are integral to the game and then reintroduced once issue is sorted.

Turning off all zenimax staffs' bank accounts would be the right measure. Pity, it'll never be done.

Yes please. I am not interested in seeing your pointless, dumb and immersion breaking pets - all of which are uninspiring since they are all the same.

They shouldn't exist in the first place.
Though the option to hide them should be entirely up to the player to disable and if it is only user side then why is there no mod for this?

I'd be fine with a player-selected toggle to turn the pets off locally.

But not with their outright removal.

As for costumes/outfits? No, I think many will be in agreement that those should stay. And I hate seeing these guys in bright pink armour or clothes...

The best thing about ESO is that no one looks the same. As an RPG, expressing personality is important to the character -- perhaps of utmost importance.

We play for different reasons. As a casual gamer (in terms of content not time played), I love my pets, my costumes, and my houses. You do you. Let me do me. :)

YEAH we should also lower the resolution to 160p, switch to 16b colors, disable all graphic options to accommodate the constant whining of the pvpers that i as a pveer totally care about...

I hope 5G comes out soon.... or maybe that would make the lag faster. 🤔 😂

They already banned pets from Cyrodiil, which is the place that has the most lag.

I spent several hours in the Gold Coast today, though, and didn't have a single bit of lag. Not everyone has lag in PvE areas.
