For me personally i don't have a warewolf. I like vamp for the passives alone, regen is nice, undead comes in handy sometimes, and the sneak is pretty nice as well.
Lycanthropy is useful for stam characters specifically if you want to be a werewolf. Vampirism is useful to all magicka toons and arguably many stamina toons. I'd say that qualifies it as more useful.
I refused to be a vampire for a long time purely out of spite. There was a time where 5 threads on page one were people complaining how they HAVE to be a vampire and HAVE to look ugly for dps sake or they can’t compete in end game and how unfair it was. Barf.
It’s calmed down now and I hope they don’t touch it. Not the cosmetics nor the skill line. It’s fine the way it is, optional and roleplay.

Vampirism has the benefit of being on all the time. You don't have to do anything with it to get something out of it. In fact, you get more powerful if you don't. A little backwards if you ask me, but hey, that's vampires in the Elder Scrolls. At least they don't sparkle.
Werewolves, on the other hand, are real powerhouses when transformed, and can take on pretty much anything all by themselves. But you have to give up your ultimate and you only get your buffs when transformed. Not to mention the loss of being able to cast anything but the werewolf abilities.

Werewolf is more fun. You feel like a werewolf.
Vampire is more useful in a 'set it and forget it' type thing, except in some situations where there's a lot of fire damage and you wanna adjust your level. Be nice if vampire had more useful abilities aside from using mist to cheese mechanics lol.
