Dodging, shadowy disguise, reflect are Counter play to effects, but I do not know to what degree- such as only if the effect is a dot. Reflect is the most painful counter because your effect is sent back to you. (Though not a status effect, I suspect that Reflect sends your poisons back to you.)
Regarding damage shields, I searched patch notes for information about effects and shields, but could not find anything. But historically, burning, chilled, concussion will not proc against those with a damage shield, which I think is BS. I searched patch notes because i thought this was changed a year or two ago.
Certain races are immune to certain status effects. Below is a list-
Nord - chilled
Dark elf - burning
Wood Elf - poisoned
Argonian - disease
Another interesting race perk is for Breton: The passive Spell Attunement doubles your Spell Resistance granted if you are afflicted with Burning, Chilled, or Concussed.

I understand those are the natural way a dodging and counseling out dots that are placed on you but I'm talking about ticking dots that people are shadowing based off a timer to cancel them out I understand that the resistance would be heightened but completely cancel it out as a status effect you should not be able to do
I might not be understanding the topic, but status effects from weapon enchantments will not proc if the initial attack is dodged. I don't know if this is the same as completely canceling which you are describing.
If effects are not working as they used to, perhaps there is a bug? Are you able to test the issue that you see with a friend?

Yes I could apply poison injection on one of my friends who is a magic Nightblade dark elf which his passive is burning effects not poison and he could hit stealth even after the poison injection is applied to him and take no other tick
And the thing is with sorcs is their Shields once you get in and actually apply a status effect on them they're next cast of Shield then blocks the status effect that's applied to them already as well as blocking from others
It's even as bad as to being able to use an invisibility pot to cancel out (persay )status effects that are applied to a character already not incoming but ones that are already applied
Yeah some of the mitigation effects don’t really make sense. If you’re already on fire or poisoned, how can you dodge a tick or make it miss? It’s probably just ZOS not caring or not coding it in a way that makes sense to people like us, though I’m sure the people that benefit from it love it.
