https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IQPT85gPa-c&t=28sI play Templar heal since 2 years (i got a lot of breaks from the game) so im not sure if they are really underperforming.
But for dungeon healing i quite like him. BoL can keep people alive even through heavy fuckups and...ok i just realized that the other skills on my bar, expect extended ritual and channeled focu are either guild or weapon skills.
I have the feeling he is the kinda "paladin" class of ESO and the Warden, which im currently leveling, is more the "druid" type of healer. Not sure he can put out burst heals like the templar can.

I've made a sorc too and farmed shards during those weeks where we were not able to queue to dungeons and BG.
Sorc is so much better with amazing skills and OP fire power. They got mage wrath the best pvp excecute and a skill that gives major brutality and major sorcery for 33 sec and heals you when you do crit dmg
Power Surge
Invoke Meridia’s name to get a rush of power, granting you Major Brutality and Major Sorcery, increasing Weapon and Spell Damage by 20% for 33 seconds.
While active, dealing a Critical Strike heals you for 2550 Health. This effect can occur once every 1 second.
they also have pets and light speed and the best shield in the game.
no wonder they rule the battlefield,
In the other hand templar is at best a botheal. Oh no guess what sorc is better at healing too Twilight Matriarch heals more than Breath of Life lol
Summon Twilight Matriarch
Call on Azura to send a twilight matriarch to fight at your side. The twilight matriarch’s attacks deal 668 Shock Damage plus an additional 15% damage.
Once summoned, you can activate the twilight matriarch's special ability, causing it to heal the matriarch and up to 2 other friendly targets for 1671 Health.
The twilight matriarch remains until it is killed or unsummoned.
Just as said in the video, only pothead keep playing templar. Stop beying a pothead switch to sorc or nightblade.

I also main a Magplar who has 100% gold gear, more than 350 skill points and I have more than 2000 hours experience on him, much of it in PVP.
They both have advantages and disadvantages but the single target burst I can do on the Magsorc (crystal frag tool tip is just under 17k) combined with the ease that I can root people makes Magsorc infinitely better in 1 on 1 or situations where the opponent has full health. Also, up until this week I thought that Radiant Oppression was tops on the execute list but Mages Wrath is ridiculous.
The advantages of my Magplar are that I can get away with more nonsense because many of his abilities return resources especially jabby sticks returning so much health. I would have also said how great his execution was but ... yeah. Sadly many of the best parts of playing a Magplar are really just that I did all of the other skill lines with him so, also ... yeah.
The one thing that my Magplar definitely has however is a higher floor. I can get away with stuff in massive fights that is often ridiculous, especially for someone who essentially intentionally wears “PVE” gear in Cyrodiil to raise my damage. My Magsorc seemed much more squishy despite having a similar set up. Also, keeping up the pet for heals takes some getting used to.
Regardless I filled up a kill 40 without a group no problem last night despite being a Magsorc novice. You can just spam roots and executes into crowds wayyyyyyyy easier than I ever spammed radiant cheesily on my Magplar.
So yeah ... buff Magplar.

Templars can be super strong as a ranged class. Just look up helium balloon on YouTube. He's on ps4.
