Bethesda had a chance and blew it. No cross progression/play/purchases/anything

Maybe not Cross play, Maybe not Cross Progression. But, there must be some for of cross platform interchangeability. I and other fans are very hesitant to take no as an answer. I, myself can no longer work with Sony. I had to buy Summerset twice. I had to buy Elsweyr twice. As of now, as it was in the last few months: I cannot access DLC areas despite having purchased them ( some quick fixes allows me access temporarily, but its very random and cannot plan on doing any sort of dailies with groups). All that is available to me is to move stay with ESO with no hope of ever having an expansion nor DLC unless that content somehow becomes part of the base game. Maybe months down the road, Elsweyr will work. As far as I can see, ESO will have no further content available to me beyond what I already have in regards to expansion and DLC. My situation is one of different situations many encounter that prevents them from going further with their legally purchased content. Of course, there are problems on every platform; However Sony has been antagonistic and ZOS is contributing to the problem by offering no semblance of a resolution or partial resolution despite being perfectly aware of the abuses. Perhaps, allow our crown purchases to carry over along with our cp level?

Also part of the problem is players like myself, being patient, tolerant and understanding of the technical difficulties to pull off some sort of shared progression between linked accounts. Maybe if we were nasty about it, things would change like they did for Fall Out 76 ( why is that game even an exception?, and I don't mean cross play because it does not have any. I mean the honesty that things were not right). I want to be proved a fool, the ZOS that has it in itself to help players whom are getting wrongfully charged and being deprived of their purchases. On Monday I will be reporting my case to the better business bureau along with my bank statements for the charges now and last year. I do not expect anything to come from it, however. I write this post with the hopes to encourage any of whom are affected to do the same. I know some here will post as if I acting entitled: to that I say, see how many others share my issue. This has gone on and on since last year when it comes to crowns and purchases and after I left eso plus, now my DLC is not available? Also, I have been glitched out of even longing in for weeks despite my friends being able to play. Maybe I am wrong, but my only choice, which is not even a choice, is for cross play ( or something like it) My account is broken with no resolution and I wonder just how many fall in the same boat? I know I am not the only one.

Maybe if that had been a focus from the start. The whole engine, the entire game that it is built here, is very unlikely to include or implement any way to do cross platform.

Im trying to think of an analogy here... imagine building a large luxury cruise liner. Then after it is completed, someone asks that it should be able to drive on roads too or attach some engines so it can be used as a spaceshuttle to go to the moon. Obviously this is ridiculous, but bear with me: ESO is that huge luxury liner that (I assume) was not in any way built for cross platform. Implementing it now would probably require major restructuring which may simply not be something that can be realistically done without huge investments both in time and money and possible even still with an uncertain outcome for success.

As for content purchases on Playstation not being able to be carried over to the PC version this could very likely be due to some agreement with Sony that Bethesda/ZOS simply cant avoid. Sony may, for perhaps obvious reasons, not want players migrating to PC, away from Playstation... Im guessing here, but it is likely it is something like this.

And sorry to read that mess you are going through, that really sucks.

Two large paragraphs and I still have no idea what your problem is specifically. If I interpreted it right, ZOS has already, a long time ago, said that linking/moving accounts cross platform was a no no. Forever. They did it ONCE for Console Launch because something to do with the data tables for Console being fresh and clean, but now that they're not anymore data transfer isn't possible. And if you have multiple accounts on the same platform...why even? If the second account is for a family member then you will always need to buy two copies of content for both people. You can't just go, "Oh my Son's account is in the same household and on the same system so you should just give me a copy of all content for free".

That analogy would be appropriate if there was only one platform it was on and I was arguing that it be available on another. ( though your point is logical, it is not what is going on) Because Bethesda sees users like me as a possible source of double dipping, there is no incentive to make sure SONY behaves ( btw, I filed a report on them as well, and I don't have much sway if the game is available on other platforms as it could be seen as me voluntarily doing business with SONY). Bethesda wants the business of those consoles and thus must hold to the same responsibilities. If your scenario were the case, things would go much much easier.

My previously bought DLC no longer works.
    I did nothing wrong.

I have filed a report with the BBB ( in Canada). However, there was not much they can do if the game exists on other platforms and that Bethesda had failed to indicate that cross platform purchases were not a resolution (despite there being a section on the q and a that there were no plans AS A FEATURE)

Again that is a Sony as well as an Microsoft thing. If Bethesda, and many other gaming companies had their way, there would be many cross platform purchases, communities and activities tied together. Getting the other two to agree or work together, can happen, but is rare, and often failed passion projects, so companies like Bethesda and many, many others make do with what they can work with. Multi Platform.

As somebody that is not a console peasant, nor have I played on any EU server, solely played on PC NA server, it would be good, if in the future there was a master sever introduced that syncs all the data.

It would require players to sync their accounts to it, and they have to choose what gets wiped / kept.

For instance, if you own ESO on PS4 and PC, you have 10 characters on each account but the max is 18, you will have to delete 2. You may even need to rename your characters if a name is already taken. If you own two version of the same house, you will need to choose which one to keep and which one gets wiped. After all conflicts have been resolved, it will then copy all your data to the master server.

The end result is you have an account that can now bounce between servers and cross play.

I think with Google Stadia and certain server/client streaming services coming, if they take off, this will likely be something they will explore.

You misunderstand me because you are hung up on something. Bethesda will not indicate whether honoring cross platform purchases is a resolution ( in this case troubleshooting) the issue or not. All they will indicate is that it is not a feature. If the question is open that ZOS can , under special circumstances ( I doubt it, I think they will just not do anything) then it is on ZOS not SONY,. The only thing I can go after SONY for is for ransom purchases, but I can't go anywhere with that without ZOS indicating anything ( outside of the cross platform availability).

I am stuck. SONY can't and won't budge without ZOS.

So Sony removed your access to the first copy?

and the second it seems. They did the same with Summerset last year but only with the first.

Also all DLC except for like 2 ( I must be fair ZOS did try to help with that and is still trying to find a solution. We did something, it work ed for a while and now it glitches back to that state again) SONY can't verify the purchases for DLC due to Crowns. The second you dispute a purchase with ESO with sony, they will refer you back to ZOS and end the conversation.

I still don’t get it. Sony locked you out of stuff you paid for but Bethesda blew it for not offering cross platform? Sounds like Sony blew it for taking their customer for a ride.

To be fair, cross platform, would have been the easiest way out of the situation, not the only resolution. Because ESO as a service, is offered on other platforms, I do not have much clout to get this issue resolved ( identifying the issue as SONY being antagonistic and repeatedly abusing these situations). If it were only offered on PS4 for example, this would not be happening. I agree that SONY should not do business with me anymore. As a policy Bethesda should offer at least something to customers locked out of future progress so as them not to be punished when they did nothing wrong. As I said, I would not mind rebuying anything for any sort of switch or even starting over, it is that those purchases were timed exclusives as are most crown purchases. I they ZOS will not fix the issue at hand, then it is the territory of what is called a "SWEEPSTAKES": especially if it becomes a game of chance as to whom gets to keep their crown purchases in the long run.

Yikes. I have never really been a big fan of Sony and it seems that has kept me from heartache. Sorry you're having issues dude. If i were you, i would sell your playstation if all Sony is doing is blowing you off to be lazy customer reps. I'm not going to say playstation is a bad console, but Microsoft has been a really good experience on PC and Xbox for me for many years(not talking in ESO, just overall). The biggest issue i have had with an xbox is red ring and even then i received new product with no delay.
The only sony product i ever bought was a PS3 for Skyrim, Well... the darn thing would do something odd with save files and make the whole game lag and it would also randomly delete my save files. I tried to put up with it for a while, then i just sold the darn thing and swore off sony for good lol.

How is that a thing though? If this were a platform issue, where are the other reports of this?

Sounds user specific to me. There's something happening that we're not being told about or OP is unaware of / reluctant to divulge.

I play on multiple platforms, never heard of this situation. Xbox, Sony and PC, all purchases are logged and recorded... I can view several years of purchases in my Microsoft account for example. Digital receipts are equally valid as hard copy.

There is 0 ZOS blame in this story.

He bought it on PS4, then was randomly denied his product due to technical issues through sony live service and wants the ability buy it again, with there being a chance of losing it....again. :/

How is that a thing though? If this were a platform issue, where are the other reports of this?

Sounds user specific to me. There's something happening that we're not being told about or OP is unaware of / reluctant to divulge.

There are other reports of this, with other games as well. It is rare though.

I tried to put up with it for a while, then i just sold the darn thing and swore off sony for good lol.

ps- not hating on sony, just not my cup of tea

The chance to buy again on a different platform, SONY is just going to keep being thugs towards me. The crown purchases, the rewards.

This is already an available solution.

ombudsman... Gather those reports, collect evidence, make a claim - - this is unacceptable if true, and breaches the provision of service to you. Consumer rights.

But still, not ZOS issue, or foul in this context.

Do you think I should talk to the ombudsman or the Better Business Bureau first?
