I never did care much for the guy. I would prefer the cat (I think). Let me convert it for free or something like 100 Crowns. Same for the vendor one.

I agree, which is why I want a cheap option to convert them. I suspect they would run away just as much, but I am despising the current banker for that behavior and at least a cat looks cuter (to me at least).
Not worth 5K crowns for that however.

The difference is that you get a basic horse for free, which functions exactly the same as any mount in the store.1 -

That argument i've seen coming already - but you're wrong again. Mount is a PURE cosmetic choice in the Crown store. You dont need to buy it there and still have the FULL functionality.
Yes you are limited to horses for non crownstore options [but even there some cosmetic free choice just limited to a small horse varity], but as said they offer the exact SAME thing like all different _pure_ cosmetic Mount choices from to crown store.

We have exactly 2 bankers. We have a bunch of mounts.
I did get the camel on one server and a jaguar (I think that is what it is) on the other with the latest Crown Crate giveaway. (I did greatly benefit there.) So you don't have to spend crowns for non-horses, but they are only sold there.
Buying the other banker is far more costly than any mount I recall. It is closer to another house.
I didn't have any choices when I bought it. I got one when I started at a discount, but paid "full price" for one on EU since it is so indispensable to me. I could have waited (had I known) I suppose, but that would have been playing for several months without the option of a mobile banker (and the benefits). I just want something <500 crowns to convert mine to a cat. I would also convert my merchant (on NA only) to a cat for the same. Wait what? A banker is a banker and a mount is a mount regardless of how they look like. Or are you telling me Ezabi is able to give you access to guild store while the dunmer can't?

I mean, that cool atro mount performs precisely the same as the freedbie you get leveling up. Ditto the banker--whether it's a balding dunmer or a turbanned kitty, they both bank.
That said, sounds like a great idea for ZOS to charge x crowns to "convert" bankers/merchants. That'd get a lotta people who aren't gonna buy a whole other banker to potentially pony up to convert.
And as a note, I prefer the humanoid assistants. Easier to see, and then I don't need to interact with any khajit.1 -

Well, imo the difference is, you want a mount, choose between any available in the store- ice horse, other horses, various lions, lioness, cougar, two different leopards, dromathra senche, etc. You have the ability to choose and pick your favorite.
Before the Alfiq options, you wanted a banker, you could pick......Tythis. What other choice did you have? If you wanted a personal banker, you had the option of Tythis or nothing. Same with the merchant whose name I can't recall because I never bothered with her. If you wanted a merchant, your single option was only her.
The people who waited have a choice now. It would be nice if there was some way to let the people who had no choice in the looks earlier to change without buying the same functionality again at full price.7 -

The Elk was 5,000 or 6,000 crowns at release, cant remember which. Most mounts are around 2,000 yes, but some get on up there. Im honestly still not seeing the big difference here. Most people dont want a plain Horse for a mount and all exotics are crowns only. You buy one thinking its cool only for an even more appealing one to be sold months later same price if not more.
