Does ZOS care about Bots, or dont they care?

I mean, there are alot of Areas (like for example Vivecs Antlers in Stonefalls or that Zombie Area in Coldharbour) which have Farm Bots running in circles all day long, and they dont seem to go away, so... Is that ok (or ignored) by ZOS?

Ignored, just like the rest of the game that isn't the Crown Store

I would say yes, since I don’t see them often.

They don't seem to care, even though they really should, if only from their own point of view.

They have made furnishing mats rarer.

Presumably, on the premise that if they do, the price of furnishings will go up, to reflect that and people will be more likely to resort to buying furnishings from the Crown store.

Except that, due to botting (mainly) that is not the case.

As, if you collect your furnishing mats every morning from your bot, which have been farmed while you sleep, you might as well make some of them into furnishings.

Even if you barely make more than you would have got for the mats, it is no skin off your nose, either way, is it?

So, all ZoS are doing, by making furnishing mats scarcer, is punishing the people who don't bot and who can no longer find reasonably priced mats to make furniture to use themselves.

Let alone to sell for a profit.

They care about bots, they care a lot. They love bots. A lot. Bots pad Firor’s all-important “ZOMG, X millions of copies sold!!!!!” Speeches. If it will bring an extra million sales his battle cry would be “Bring on the bots!”

I imagine its a little like the story about the guy walking down the beach tossing washed up starfish back into the ocean, except that in this case ZOS is trying to get rid of the bots in this Sisyphean task.

If you are on PC you can use an addon called Botscanner 2000 to scan and easily report the Bots. Works great. It should be part of the UI in game.

West of Sentinal along the coast there is a popular mudcrab bot farm. It’s been there on and off for at least a year or so. It’s not a new problem so they obviously don’t prioritise these things or they’d have done something by now.

I report them when I come across them. I have not been out hunting them for a while, now, due to just being busy. They seem to go away after the report.

Zos does some to remove bots but they have been slow to react for a long time. Now that we can sell trade crown store items for in game gold there is probably less incentive to come down hard on the bots/gold sellers.

Kills me when I see them on Xbox. Running a set pattern, exact same route, same false "missteps". Over and over. Used to be the one plus console had was less(or less complicated) hacking/bots.

I went runestone farming for the first time in months the other day. Last time I was in the spot I like there were a couple of stationary bots but nothing major. Now they are everywhere. I was standing at one spawn location and this bot would come to it, stand for 3 seconds waiting to see if the runestone would spawn, then run to its next assigned location. Then like magic, that night they all disappeared at once. Suuuuure, these "players" just all signed off at the same time. I'm on Xbox. Wish ZoS would do something about them.

There's a lot they don't care about and bots is one of them.
