Unable to kill the dragon in Battle for Riverhold?

Can't seem to beat him. I shot him with the ballista, started beating on him, but his remaining health didn't move an inch and he eventually was able to kill me.

Respawned, went to kill him again, his health bar's full. Great.

Got him down to 0 health and kept beating on him for about 40 more seconds. He won't die. Ends up oneshotting me.

Is he bugged, or is this how he's supposed to act? Is there some kind of script he's supposed to run when he's down to 0 health that just isn't letting me kill him?

    I had this issue as well. The only way I was able to kill him was by grouping with someone higher level that was well geared. The grouping reset the scenario without having to abandon the entire quest and start over, so he no longer started at full health. Granted even with two of us he still didn't take damag until he got his big heal off, but with 2 of us we got him down without much issue.

    I am having same issue w/him not dying. He gets down to zero health, but never dies. I was hacking away at him for quite a while , nothing would kill him. I let myself be killed so I could get out of the area, because I would have been there forever it seems.

    Same problem. Got him to zero HP and thereafter he just never died.

    As per a tip which someone said had worked for them, I abandoned the Quest, redoing the Cadwell booby trap thing and burning the two camps in order to get back to the stage where I was at, and same thing happened. I got the dragon to zero HP pretty easily, and yet again when he reached that point he just didn't die.

    I blocked and dodged as best I could, used potions and healed as often as I was able, but eventually I died. I have given up on this quest at this point. Please fix! :(

    I tried resetting and also there's no mods. I tried abandoning quest and it makes no difference. 0hp, fought for a while even afterwards and he didn't die.

    Edit: I finally got it. He died instantly after hitting 0hp. The only difference is this time I didn't die. I had someone else in the party so it was a bit easier to dodge. My hypothesis is something about my deaths and soulstone rezzing bugged it out.

    Others have said that grouping solved the problem, so you're likely right, but this has to be fixed. It's not a "group quest." If ZOS can't program the quest to work as intended they need to change it. After getting him down to what appeared to be zero health several times (and continuing to fight at zero), I'd take letting me kill him with the ballista at this point.

    Same thing with me just now. So this quest is broken as a solo story quest? I want to solo it so will wait for a fix.

    He died for me when I shot him with the ballista and I was solo.

    Agreed. I'm probably just going to focus on the rest of the zone and just wait for a fix. If I keep going back to bang my head against the fight I'm going to start hating it pretty quickly. No guildies right now to help me kill it, and I have no issue waiting.

    Quest is only missing one thing, a "Win" button for the dragon. He may as well have one tho.

    Absolute stupidity by the Devs.

    I can’t kill him either. It’s so frustrating because every time I pull away from him I get sucked back in and die. Even when I DID get him down to nothing, he won’t die. I didn’t pre order this chapter so early on for things to be this buggy.
    In my defence, I've been left unsupervised.

    This is still broken. I simply cannot get him down as a level 30 - he seems stuck at either 0 or 1% and no matter how much I run or dive he eventually kills me. Any response anywhere from the devs about this?
